Me and my friend are currently playing BG1 together, we were in Durlag's Tower last night and i wasn't able to disable some of the trapped containers with Imoen, so he took his Paladin (one of the strongest characters in our group) and opened the trapped container with the idea of springing the trap and absorbing the damage, but when he goes to open the container.....nothing? he loots everything and the trap simply disappeared. We tried the same thing on different trapped containers with the same results.

What gives? how could he be getting past the traps without triggering them? o.O

It's called Divine Protection, you infidel ;)

Shiek, does trap just disappear, or is there VFX effect but the character takes no damage? Maybe your paladin has some stacked immunity.

Heh, paladins and thieves are my two favourite class to roleplay, be it P&P or cRPG.
...no, I see no personality clash here :P

It just "disappears", no VFX, no nothing.

Well, if it keeps happening throughout whole Durlag's Tower you'\re one lucky fellow.

Maybe it's connected to playing in co-op? Old BioWare forums were great for info on bugs like that but sadly they were taken down.

It only works on Containers, my friend has already triggered countless traps, some which have had lethal consequences ;)
More poking and prodding on the subject and our best guess is that it is a bug like it was already suggested. It's not limited to Durlag's Tower and only happens on containers.

No biggie i guess, but plain wierd when a smartass paladin keeps stealing Imoen's job :P
