any other I've forgotten ?

In what years in the FR calendar do these games happen ? Because I'm reading the new rules books in the stores, for example, and in the current state of the Realms, Mystra is dead. But in some of these games, she's still in the pantheon.

not all dates are known exactly:

IWD: 1281 DR
IWD2: ~ 1311 DR (around 30 years after)

BG: 1368 DR
BG2: ^ couple of weeks/months after BG1 ending

NWN (OC): 1372 DR, SOU/HoTU: soon after
NWN2: a few years after the events from NWN1 OC
A massive Cataclysm happens around 100 years or so after BG takes place. During this span of events, several gods die, several new gods emerge and the land is all torn up.

It was meant to "reboot" the Forgotten Realms setting.

Fun fact:

During this "time of troubles" 3 human beings actually ascended to godhood to take the place of the fallen gods. (Mystra, Cyric and Kelemvor; Magic, Murder/Strife and Death respectively)

Yup, the God at the centre of the BG series dies, and is replaced by one of the most insidious god figures in the entire Forgotten realms, the Prince of Lies.

For these fantastic tales see "The Avatar Trilogy, The prince of lies, and The trial of Cyric the mad", great books, I highly recommend them.

I think you are getting two different events mixed up. The Time of Troubles ended around twenty years before Baldur's Gate with the Ascencion of Cyric. I think that was also when Kelemvor ascended and Midnight took on the role of Mystra.

If Ao was ever killed, that took place later.
I think you talk about the Time of Troubles (http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Time_of_troubles) and the Spellplague (http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Spellplague)?

And Ao was never killed afaik, and i don't think this would even be possible because he stands over of all the other gods and is somewhat different than them (needs no worshippers for example).

Wait, my memory is a bit hazy, but didnt Myrkul and Bhaal both DIE when Cyric ascended?

That would HAVE to take place after the events in BG.....

I can check my books when I get home, I could be mistaken, but its tugging at my brain....

Nope, they died in 1358 DR during Time of Troubles, about 10 years before BG1.
I'm curious as to when some of the old-school gold-box games took place: Pool of Radiance, Curse of the Azure Bonds, the Savage Frontier games. Some of those had novels related to them which might help place them.

It's a bit complicated. The novel versions of Radiance and Darkness occour around 1340 and 1350. Curse is on 1357. However, the release order of the games is Radiance - Curse - Secret - Darkness.
Reading the reaver and was wondering which book did kheblen die in and which book did the gods die in for a hundred years
