That's not the OP's fault. The new generation got used to the hand holding of the newer games which made their minds lazy. They can't think, they can't read and they have absolutely no idea of trial and error. We played the originals back in 1999 with our limited english. Now the EE's tell almost everything about the game yet players are still paralyzed, confused. They wait someone to hold their hands, to tell them what to do, NPC's with !! marks on their heads so they can click them.

I believe a year ago I played a game where you didn't even had to move yourself. You just click "Do the next quest" and your character goes there and does it. You don't even have to read a single thing except click things with !! on them until you level up. I reached very high levels without reading a single thing and doing nothing but click with left mouse button. This game had over 1 million player at that time.

Now, we can't actually expect a child of that generation enjoy the beauty of Baldur's Gate in an instant. That will take time and patience. However, the new generation also doesn't have that.

To Mr Tx3000: If you took offense in my writing, you shouldn't even attempt to play those games. They will eat you alive. However, if my writing made you think and question yourself instead of the game, and if you are REALLY determined to enjoy those priceless classics, let me know. I'll give you all the help I can.

I've seen some of OP's videos. He's in his late 30s to mid 40s. I can understand why you think he's 10, though...

When a person is born, he or she can do a bunch of things without being taught; eating, sleeping, breathing...and playing Baldur's Gate. OP was born without this knowledge. It sound like a disability.

You know, I was like the OP before - trying to figure out an Infinity Engine game but I got the hang of things eventually without raging online on why these games are seemingly "impossible."

Sometimes, learning things on your own instead of being spoon fed like a whiny baby has its benefits in the long run.

Unfortunately, curiosity is highly correlated with intelligence, and since you are (deliberately or otherwise) lacking in the ability to experiment with the very responsive user interface, I can't say you are intelligent enough to enjoy the game. If you struggle with making such a simple determination as to how to equip your character or how to survive combat, after the tutorial demonstrates this, then you will fail to grasp the more advanced aspects of the game.
You will get nowhere with your attitude in this game. It demands the player extend themselves out of the comfort zone, to explore and remember.

If you wish to persevere, learning to play this game is an excellent pathway to fix your self-destructive impulses, though I doubt you would care to place yourself in such a vulnerable position, even in the privacy of your own home. Your loss.
Exactly. Not every game is meant for everyone. The OP really should stick to visual novels, since reading is such a chore.

I dig the recent posts to this thread, which analyze tx3000 personally. This whole thread is just really funny and entertaining on so many levels.

tx3000 can't figure out the tutorial, while my 9yo played through the tutorial by himself earlier this year. The kid's only ever played Minecraft, never any CRPGs. Yet I watched him in silence as he did the tutorial without issues or anger.

tx3000 says "there is no possible way a player who has never played BG II EE to leave the first room". But, at one point, weren't we all once a player who has never played BG? Yet, somehow, we were able to leave the first room... a miracle!

But according to tx3000, it's the devs and indeed the rest of us that are the ones being retarded. That is just too funny.

I hope tx3000 returns to this thread. It's way more entertaining dogging him with a reaction.

Well, to tell the truth, BG2 is a sequel (I know, should've warned about spoilers!).

The tutorial is in BG1, on the first area. The player is supposed to learn the basics before venturing out of Candlekeep.

So the statement "there is no possible way a player who has never played BG II EE to leave the first room" does carry some weight: the player should have played BG1 to learn how to "leave the first room", which is indeed in no way the very first room of the BG saga (which, by the way, starts outdoors, so exiting the first room implies prior entrance of the first room).
