I have tried using the downloader and it won't download all the necessary files and the two files it downloads are VLC media player files. When I use my broswer to download the game into a dedicated folder the I get 1 setup file that is .exe. The other files are .bin files that are associated with VLC media player. When I try to install the game using this method I get a message the .exe is not a Win32 application.

What did I just buy? I feel ripped off. I have been trying to install this game for 12 hours and with no luck and no help from gog.com. I have been buying games from STEAM for years and without a problem. I buy my first game from GOG and it is turning into a nightmare. Could someone please, please help me. Neither methods to download and install the game are working for me.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Try and remove the .bin file association from VLC - they are binary files and should be able to be opened by the appropriate programs, not just one.

Also make sure you download all the files first - don't run the setup file until you have them all

What OS are you using? If it's Vista or Win7, run the .exe as admin - and if you're on Win7, it's highly recommended that you DON'T install to Programs. Instead install somewhere else such as C:\Baldur's Gate.

As for the VLC association, don't worry about it. My Win7 rig does the same thing, but the files install just fine.
