Hello,

I have Baldur's Gate I from gog, and I'd like to install the original Baldur's Gate saga without Tales of the Sword Coast. I start the launcher, press the options button, and I see a list of components, Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate - Tales of the Sword Coast. Both are checked and I'm unable to check either one of them. Anyone know if there's a way to install the original game only?

As far as I'm aware, since it's integrated as one package, there's no way to install only the base game.

What's the reason you want to leave TotSC out of the installation?
There were some minor differences in the original game. Improved invisibility was more effective, the, healing spells healed for random amounts. I thought it might ad challenges in some ways, and I was never fond of the added content--Durlag's Tower, Werewolf island, and so on.

Really? I never noticed the expac changing the 'randomness' of the healing spells, but it's been years and years since I played the first game without using Tutu, so I might just not remember.
You can't not install TotSC, but you CAN ignore all the content. Just don't go to Durlag's Tower or Ulgoth's Beard. That way, the only real changes (other than the minor ones you listed) would be the slight XP cap increase.
You can check the files in the override folder in your installation with a text editor and remove those which change something you don't like.
