I've checked a few other threads, and the answers provided haven't helped, so maybe someone can give me the 'For Dummies' version?

When I open my copy of BG1 from GOG, I can see my character files exported and saved. But when I go to Import in BG2, or when I go into the files to copy them, I can't find them in my GOG folder. Can anyone give me an idea of where the file I'm looking for is?

Don't know if you saw this post by JadeMilieu in another thread, but:

[i]The saves are located here: C:\Users\‹login name›\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\<application name><save folder>
You have to copy your character file that should have been created after the fight with big boss man to the character file folder in BG2. Not sure if that's in the BG1/2 directory or the virtual store, but that's how you do it.

NOTE: NOT THE SAVE FILE, THE CHARACTER FILE [/i]
