Hi, guys, I'm new to this game and I'm simply loving it. I was already into RPGs in general and tabletop rpgs. The only time I tried something like BG was playing a smartphone game called Exiled Kingdoms. I loved to see how BG is way more evolved, detailed and immersive than it.

Btw, are there modded versions of the game, like Nehrim: At Fate's Edge for Oblivion, that changes the game completely and adds a new story?

"but I don't get why people hate the EE?"

It was mainly for techinical issues near the start of release. Most of them have been ironed out. My personal main gripe with the EE versions are the lame characters. Fortunately they are easy enough to ignore. I tell them to f--k off and I go on my merry way.

With the console releases for both BG EE versions and NWN EE, technical problems are back again. There are audio issues that should have been caught before release. BG2 has a strange buzz at the tail end of the audio. With NWN the sound ping-pongs from ear to ear, even when standing still.

Not that I'm aware of. You can check Nexusmods.

Hexxat won't shut up in CC when you ignore her.
Hexxat is very buggy yes but she is also skippable

yes there are lots of mods that add custom characters ir items but less that fully change the game itself... it is possible but a lot of work and most of the mod people have long since moved on to other games
Have a nice day! I have a question. I bought Baldurs Gate 3 yesterday. I bought it mostly because of Early Access, but it won't start. My question is, is Early Access still available for it, or is my machine at fault, which is why it won't start?

1. It's still available.

2. I don't know how to fix your problem, but you might have better luck asking your question here:

You may want to open a support ticket.

EA is still avalable until the end of this month when the game is released...
why the game wont start will be because your system isn't good enought to run it or you installed it wrong and thats a 50% 50% because you didn't tell us what hardware you have or where you unstalled it

what any of this has to do with Beamdog is beyond me
Thanks for the replies, the update was the key to solving my problem. You think that it will also be downloaded automatically, but it didn't happen like that
Updates on Gog can be automatic or manual depending on setting ... Gog Galaxy updates can even be both because they can auto go into que but then sit in that que waiting for you to give permission

P.s Galaxy updates STILL auto download while you are playing linked games despite gog promise to get off their ass and fix that

Wow, that's odd. After more than 30h of playthrough, I can strongly affirm some of my favorite characters are from the EE lol. I found that Baeloth dude pretty exquisite and funny, and Rasaad is just a cool guy and a great add to the team! Meanwhile, I find Imoen to be so annoying lol, I hate that I can't kick her out of the party simply because I need her thief skills so hard. Personally I can't understand why people hate Neera and not she. I also had a beef with Jaheira at first but I started to like her and now I won't let she leave the team.

Edit: I'm sorry, I could swear Baeloth was part of the EE new cast. Comes up it's only Neera, Rasaad and Dorn. Well, I've liked the two first ones and didn't had the chance to get Dorn in the party. It's funny because Jaheira didn't allow him in yet she doesn't oppose when you recruit Baeloth.

He's a new addition to the series. He's the main antagonist for the Black Pits. The Black Pits were add-ons to the Enhanced Editions, and not part of the original games.
Baeloth is part of the EE builds, as is Wilson ... they both got added because their fans asked for them

Wow, that's nice, thanks! So, yeah, some of my fav characters are from EE. I've finished Neera's quest today and she was a real jerk at the end of it. Not sure if when you romance her she uses different lines, but still, she totally ignores you and the party risked your lives just to give her a chance to meet Adoy.
She's still a good mage imo tho. And for me, most of the time she isn't as annoying as Imoen lol.
if you find them annoying thats your right but its also a personal thing... she is upset and there is more issues coming but her full romance in Sod, BG2 and finally Tob is actually one of the hardest to complex, which only Dorm being harder and thats because its so buggy

p.s, how dare you pick on my half sister... Imoen is Just Imoen ;)

Imoen is the one character in the BG series that NEVER leaves my party (outside of stupid forced story thingies). :)
