Regarding the CLUAConsole, I cut and pasted baldur.ini to my desktop, modified it, saved it, then cut and paste it back into the BG folder. I can open the file and see that I've made changes, but in the game itself, the ctrl+tab command doesn't do anything.

Also, when I try to play multiplayer, the game crashes. Any ideas what that's about?
1.)
So I looked at a few other threads... probably should have done that before making this topic.
I followed their advice, and set it to run in compatibility mode for windows xp, and to run the program as an administrator. Now my save files are gone. There are no saves in the BG folder besides the mission pack.

Also, it seems any characters that I exported are now gone.

Strangely, Gatekeeper still recognizes my save, and my exported character. Any idea where the files are stored?

2.)
Multiplayer games (to be played as single player for a six-NPC party created by me) are only available in TCP/IP (which is the way I'm used to doing it), and Serial. TCP/IP makes the game crash. Serial doesn't even respond when I click "New Game.

3.)
Also, I installed the TotSC patch, and it requires me to insert the disc. GOG did not provide me with a disc. I have ways of getting around this, but I was wondering if there was a legit fix.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

1. I don't use Vista/7, so I might be wrong, but I think compatibility mode causes your saves to be located in the actual save folder rather than the obscure virtual thingy (someone provide the correct term?).

2. You might need to go into windowed mode when selecting TCP/IP to get the multiplayer to run.

3. DON'T INSTALL ANY PATCHES. The game is fully patched up to the final version.
Awesome. I didn't expect such a quick response!

1. Okay so there's some phantom world where my saves go, I suppose. Is there any way to retrieve them?

2. This worked! Thank you!

3. Oh crap. I didn't realize. I just assumed it needed patching because the multiplayer wasn't working for me. Is it possible to undo without completely uninstalling/reinstalling?

Oh, and upon further inspection, you're right. I just made a multiplayer save, and the file is located in the actual folder where it belongs.
I'd like to get my single player save back, because I had made quite a bit of progress, but if that's not possible, oh well... at least this board has helped me figure out nearly everything else.

Stolen from another thread: C:\Users\‹login name›\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\<application name><save folder>

Holy crap. Dude, you rock. High five. Thank you!
In Windows 7, there are 2 baldur.ini files, one in the main forlder that is visible, and one that is located in the compatibility files. o the tool bar, you should see the following from left to right: Organize, Include in Library, Share With, Burn, Compatibility Files, and New Folder. Select the Compatibility Files and you should see the other baldur.ini file. Modify this one also.
To bypass this issue entirely, I suggest installing the game to your user folder (for example, "C:\Users\YourName\Applications\Baldurs Gate" or similar).
