RACHMANOVSKI: Classic BG1 is NOT worth the download, maybe worth to own just to flex your gog library. BG2 classic worth to download and play since it's actually functional.

BG1 classic is like playing a gameboy games on 3440 screen. By the end of your playthrough you'd need to check your eyes on nearest clinic. Don't trust these gog crowd saying "play the classic instead", I assure you that they have some kinf of deficiency in their cranium.

cyberfancom: You don't have to worry about your poor графодрочерских (don't know how to translate) eyes, nobody is forcing you to play the original Baldur's gate, whoever wants to do it, will do it anyway.
The advice was not intended for you.

I'm trying to give good advice not trying to mislead people to have bad experience, and I am supposed to be a troll? get over yourself, American. Not every insult was meant for you, admittedly I was a bit frustrated by misleading advices given by most of gog veteran reviewers from the store pages and some from these threads in the forum, saying it was "better" to play the classic version, it was most certainly *not*, that's why I said "gog crowd", if you feel you haven't give sub-par advice then you should not feel offended.

I don't understand why I'm guilty of anything, I didn't say anyone should play BG 1 classic, my message was only that before playing old games, young players should familiarise themselves with the newer and friendlier ones ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Playing with pixels doesn't make my eyes any worse...

I did not think you were Russian, I see you are from Indonesia, besides Rachmanovski is more of a Polish and Central European surname.

И я тебя прекрасно и без гугла понимаю, я крут :)

You can give good advice without giving a negative medical diagnosis of anyone who disagrees with you. I am one of those who think that the original BG is a fine game worth playing. So, yes you were talking - rudely - about me.

Many people do have problem when the picture that appear in your screen are too pixelated that it made your eyes hard to focus. This is not how you should play games, it may bring harm to your health.

and no, I didn't blame anyone to begin with, my first reply in this thread was pure to OP not for anyone else.

Then I may also have to blame you. BG1 is not in anyway a playable for modern standard. I'm willing to bet, that you play this game in early 2000 and consider this bad pixelated and overstretched (w/o mod) gameplay is somewhat 'playable', hence why you'd say that it is somehow 'okay' to play it in its classic form.

I am however, does not want people repulsed by what would otherwise great game just because of its obsolete graphics scale. EE is the better way to play it. I do however agree that original BG2 is still very much playable in its original form, because despite it shortcoming it still has better UI than Beamdog's redo and not in anyway blurry/pixelated compared BG1 -- and that is unmodded.

Requiring people to mod the game is also should not be necessary at all and shouldn't be the first thing you do when you picked up a classic game. The first thing you do is to play it.

Blame me for disagreeing with you? What is wrong with you? Maybe this is an English-as-second-language issue. If so I apologize for taking your words literally.

Let's just say, the kind of advice you have given irks me and I considered it as a problem and potentially sabotaging enjoyment of people who could have enjoying the game the way they like it, just for the sake novelty not practicality.

(hopefully not too confusing?)

I haven't given you any advice. I have just stated my opinion, which you condemn me for. Lots of people agree with me (though you seem to think that anyone who does is insane).

Look I'm done with you. Wish I could mute you but that's not a thing, here.
