Haha, that's a kick in the teeth. Good luck! *lol*
So is Sleep. A level 1 mage can wipe out an enemy party three (3) levels higher with just that one spell.

Imagine if a Baldur's Gate 1 mod threw enemies that used that spell against you early on.

Of course, one could also make an Unlimited Adventures design, meant for low level characters, where the game throws enemies capable of casting Sleep on you, and that spell is significantly stronger (sleeping characters can be killed in a single hit, as if not being able to act weren't bad enough).
Well, it's either "Hold Person" is imba, or you made the random number god really really grumpy :D

The priest cast 3 of them. I ve had 2 remove paralysis but both my clerics got held right away :D. Btw everyone died but my paladin un-held and destroyed everyone but he had to drink a bunch of healing running like a chicken :D
I didnt understand what is going on in this picture. It looks like one of the party members was held. What am I missing?

It's not one of the party members; it's *five*. That is a lot when you "only" have 6 characters.

Notice the icon on some characters that looks like a yellow jail cage? That indicates held status.

In other games, including Dragon Warrior 2 and Final Fantasy, I have had game overs because the enemies would sleep/paralyze my entire party, and keep in mind that those two games don't have any mechanic that makes attacks more effective against disabled characters. (Well, I think Final Fantasy *might*, but the mechanic isn't well behaved and may in some cases make attacks less accurate.)

One Ghoul? That should be easy. (Ghoul paralyzes the party and keeps pinching everyone for 1 damage, eventually wiping out my entire party.)

Aha thanks I was only looking at the text and did not notice the character profiles on the right. Yellow cage? I see them red.

Yeah, it's red. Maybe he thought that because IIRC the special effect that occurs over a character when they're affected by it is yellow.
