Really tired of this problem now. Imoen is my trapfinder and disabler, but sometimes she simply walks into the middle of them to "disarm" them, which obviously sets them off. I've tried five times now to disarm a fireball trap in the Firewine Ruins, but no matter where I click on it, she storms into the centre and just stands there, before the inevitable fireball hits her. Is there any way to do disarm traps so these dumbwitted characters don't storm into them and trigger them instead? I tried standing right next to it and clicking on the edge, but no, lets run into it instead, that makes fantastic sense.
Use a fire protection spell, scroll or potion. Sometimes, especially in cramped areas like Firewine, the sweet spot for disarming gets overshot, resulting in a failure. Always have fire and electricity protections up your sleeve... always.
I shall keep that in mind for the future. Tried to reload a few more times, but there was no way to disable it, stupid Imoen wanted to warm herself instead. Didn't have any scrolls, potions or spells, so gave her the +40% fire protection ring. But as she tripped the trap, I tried to move her away in time. She didn't get fully away, but the fireball didn't hit her in the face, and that meant she didn't take damage. Bit odd, but fine by me ;) Hope I don't come across too many other traps like that. But I do save prior to taking on traps for this very reason.

Very nice dagger that the NPC (or UB) Mod introduced btw, a +2 throwing dagger that is excellent for mages. Think I got it at the lighthouse, where there was some UB or NPC action for Kivan, by that beached wreck.
