Well the topic says it. When I press play on the launcher the game loads up and I can hear the music but then windows throws me this error message. Tried all the compatibility options and running it on administrator rights.

Ok the error has comeup again after a couple of reboots, and now AGAIN, I'm unable to play because of the !"#¤ error message!

Try copying the game folder to a drive or partition with less free disk space. After playing problem-free for months on my C: drive (50 GB free), I reinstalled BG + BG2 on an external hard drive (2.6 TB free), and immediately started having this problem. Copying the game folder back to C: fixed the problem immediately.

I am hoping for a solution, this walkaround is not suitable for some.
