the.valiant.one: Just purchased as I assumed after this many days the issue would have been addressed. Turns out I was wrong. Have we had any official updates from gog on this yet? Not super impressed...
Think they tried/etc... but I have yet to hear anything "official" about the issue myself.

12+ hours into the story after doing a simple file trick to get it working, [note I never deleted any .download files myself]

Seems fine, turned off cloud-saves as about 9 hours in....they would start and wouldn't let me save for like 30 mins O.O Honestly though the game has been awesome af. 5/5 regardless of the GoG issues/etc. if you need something less than 5 maybe 4/6 it has moments where it's less than perfect.
In my case (stuck at 92%), manually changing DNS to 1.1.1.1 worked.

I'm using a DNS filter (pi-hole) and I guess one of the hosts used to download is black listed (or can't be resolved from my location).

efrenventura: Thanks a lot! This happens to me on my PC and Steamdeck with Windows and was very frustrated and this fix it

Calidan777: I just followed the steps that I could (I didn't have a "gustav.pak.state" or "gustav.pak.download") which was deleting "game.pak.state"., renaming "game.pak.download" to "game.pak" (to rename simply highlight the file by left clicking on the file once and the right clicking on it and selecting Properties from the drop down menu, once into Properties you will see the file name in a bar at the top, click on it to change the name and the click OK, a window will appear and just click yes or ok to save it) and deleting the 2 "hash.db" files in the main folder. Restarted GoG and it immediately finished installing.

For anyone not sure how to get to the files then go to where GoG is installed on your computer (typically in your C drive under profram files (X86). Scroll down to the GoG Galaxy folder, go into the folder, then go to Games, then into the Baldur's Gate 3 folder and then into the Data folder. the hash.db files are in the main Baldurs gate 3 folder. This worked first try for me.
Still broken/stuck at 92%. The above worked for me;

1. exit GOG and go to baldurs gate download file
2. Deleted the hashdb files
3. navigate to data file > Delete game.pak.state
4. rename game.pak.dowload to game.pak
5. open GOG

You beautiful person - this worked for me. Thank you so much!

No need to delete the large files, just the hashes and that rename pesky game.pak. Hopefully there'll be a fix soon.

Much love

Zaldari: It's making progress again. I did the pause one better by pausing, then quitting GOG galaxy and restarting, then selecting Resume. Now looks like it just finished! Hurrah!

Hmm I spoke to soon on my previous post, It had started downloading but crawled to a halt, Your fix though is the one everyone should follow if they are stuck at 92%

Doesnt work for me, I keep getting stuck at 92% no matter what I do.
It's infuriating, thinking about refunding.

Tried for the past 3 hours to download, all speed up at 100 MB/s downloading 106.32 GB in less than 20 mins then... nothing. 0.01GB missing.

Tried deleting files as some suggested, first time the game loaded then crashed randomly. Then it did load. And when tried to open the game again, it crashed completely.

pizzapicante27: Doesnt work for me, I keep getting stuck at 92% no matter what I do.
I will reiterate what PhonZz said:

Wait for it to get stuck at 92%, wait a minute.

Then follow these instructions.

1. Quit GOG (make sure it's not running, i.e. right click the icon and quit, not close)
2. Navigate to the install folder.
3. Seach for *.hashdb - then delete
4. Go to data folder, then delete "game.pak.state"
5. In the data folder - rename "game.pak.download" to "game.pak"
6. Start GOG and play
Ok so I deleted the game.pak.state file and renamed the game.pak.download to game.pak, but I never deleted the .hasdb file in the installation folder, however; it let me install and play the game.

Today it showed I had an update as there is a update/hotfix and it wouldn't let me install or get passed 91.4% and when I tried playing it said "missing game data files"

I restored/renamed the files as it originally was and still was unable to complete the update.

I went back to these instructions and realized I didn't delete the .hashdb file, so I just did and now I am able to play the game again, however; there is no update/hot fix this time.

So this has me concerned a bit, will the game not get updated/hot fixed with these changes we made?

Thank you

bromanatee: Same, had game.pak.state (1kb) and game.pak.download (~1gig?) instead of gustav and deleting state file + renaming game.pak.download to just game.pak worked for me.

singularity2045: But how do you know the installation us correct if you haven't verified the install. Because if you verify it will ask you to update again. So something is still wrong
I would be so screwed if i hadn't seen this post. Thanks for all you guys' help!
The FAQ has been updated with multiple solutions here:

support.gog.com/hc/fr/articles/12917971348125?product=gog
Gog is the worst. Took it two hours to update BG3 and my internet connection is fine. ( It's a freaking 1gb update and it would take like then seconds on steam ) GOG GALAXY is a scam

The update did not work ! Stuck at forever 91%. Never got that kind of problem on EPIC or Steam so gog is really the worst. All the solutions to make the full game install work at 91% do not work for the update. No file to rename or delete.
I hope GOG goes bankrupt

thx. that worked for me.
My install is freezing on the download for VirtualTextures.pak.download. I've shut down GOG, deleted that file, restarted GOG and the download resumes, but freezes up again on the same file
