I accidentally killed the character in the circus tent who spawns Aerie. I also accidentally saved over the file that would have let me redo that scene. Is it possible to use something like Shadowkeeper or the Console to add that NPC to my party as though she had never died?

Thanks!

It's not as simple as that. Sure, you could spawn another Aerie, but all of the quests that revolve around her would still consider her dead, and not fire up, and crucially that includes Aerie's own scripts. You have messed up game variables, as well as killing her. So no, it's not possible (well it's possible but would be VERY complicated) to add her as though she had never died.

Good points. Ah well, as it turns out I did do a save immediately after Imoen was taken. I'll have lost 6 days, 18 hours of gameplay, but I think that I'd rather try her in the party than continue. Thanks very much for the info!
Always keep loads of savefiles just in case something goes awry for whatever reason, and then use Quicksave often. I tend to save when entering a new area or when accomplishing something major. It would just suck too much to have to redo large sections of the game. Later on you can just delete a horde of these savefiles. But they're nice to have "just in case."
