So, I'm trying to install the Big World Project setup. One of the steps is to make sure I disable UAC. Curiously, when I do that I cannot install either BGI or II from a normal (non-admin) account.

Also, whenever I try to run the BGI game it gives me a loading screen (before actually starting the game) where the only options are Install and Exit (it's missing the big "play" button in the middle)

Any idea about how to get through this?

Have you tried installing the game outside of its usual gog.com folder? I've read online that these sorts of issues can be solved by that (especially in windows 7).

Yeah, don't install in Programs or Programs(x86). Something like C:\Games. See if that works.
