After I've enabled cheats, I can't enter or exit the current area.

Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong?

First, which game? BG1 or BG2? There are some major engine differences, as well as CLUA code differences.

Second, which OS are you using? For Windows it's a good idea *not* to install to C:\Program Files, especially if it's newer than XP.

Third, what mods, if any, are you using?

It's Baldur's Gate 1 on Windows 7. It's gog's release I just purchased a week or so ago and I installed it on my slave drive: d:\games\gog\Baldur's Gate\

I've not installed any mods yet.

The CLUA cheat codes I've used work just fine - it just breaks the exits to I can't continue the game.
