Hello, I am having some difficulties reinstalling my Baldur's Gate II game. I have both SoA and ToB disks but it tells me to configure the game but does not allow me to do so. When I checked the Baldur.ini file on my computer it is completely blank save for the line of [Program Options], there is nothing else on it and I was hoping someone could help me. I need to find the original configuration settings and add it to the file or somehow get the configurations back because there is nothing there anymore and I am at a loss...
Thank you for any help you may be able to offer.

If you're on Vista or Win7, have you checked for the .ini in the VirtualStore folder ?

C:\Users\<your_username>AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\...

Thank you for showing me where I may find the settings, now I just need to figure out how to get them back on the disk's file. It keeps saying that I cannot add to the baldur.ini file but I cannot get the game to play without something on it, it is totally blank. It keeps telling me to configure but when I click the configuration button nothing happens, no new screen or anything. :s

I'm not sure if i understand what it is you're trying to do, but go to the game shortcut and tick the 'Run as Admin' checkbox. Then try the configuration again.

If you're trying to copy and paste, make sure the file you're copying into isn't write-protected.
If you haven't started the game yet (or even if you have): you can save yourself a lot of current and future hassle (especially if you want to go modding your install), by installing outside of the Program Files folder. Choose C:\Games\Baldur's Gate II or any other foldername of your own making.
