I'm having some trouble figuring this out. When I reach a save point, I press ESC and choose "Exit Animus," but all this does is take me back one layer to the present-day setting, at which point "Exit Animus" is another option. But all THIS does is let my character get out of the machine and walk around.

Pressing ESC and Quit again at this point logs me out of my profile, but I still remain in the game and the only option now is to select my profile again and load it. Finally, at this point, there is an Exit option that actually closes the game.

I can't believe it takes this much work just to close the game when you're done playing. Is there something I'm missing that will let me just close it instantly while I'm playing the ancestor?

Thanks,
John

As I recall, Alt-F4 worked for me as a quick quit key, but yes, the sequence normally needed to exit Assassin's Creed is ridiculous.

I can confirm that Alt+F4 works; it does for most games.
Yes. I also always used Alt+F4 and it seems to be safe. I.e. it never lead to any corrupted files or such.
