Virgil suddenly stopped healing me during exploration. In combat he still heals me once in awhile and also when I manually ask him to from the dialog tree. Before he healed me automatically whenever I had lost health. Is this somehow related to my tech alignment or is it a bug?

I believe this indeed to be related to your tech alignment. As your tech alignment increase magic becomes less effective on you, lowing the chance of even casting them on you. I've encountered this myself and I believe its because you've reached a limit where the AI looks at the chances of successfully healing you and say "no its not worth it", my guess is its around 20% success chance of the cast the AI will stop using it normally, but its only a guess. If your health is critcial he will still try but will fail several heals normally.

Seems like a wall of unstructured text after writing that but hope that helps. To have healing avaliable as tech I normally go into the herbs, either on myself or there is a companion that have it by default.

Guess you need to learn some herbalism.

I noticed this as well, the only reason that I could think of is that he also has mana reserved which do over time deplete so potentially letting your characters rest for a period of time allows him to regenerate his mana pool.

Just a thought but it seemed to work.

Yeah, it's probably the Tech alignment. I'll probably have to get a follower who can do some tech healing. Meanwhile I'll have stock up on some bigger healing potions.

The lady doctor in dernhelm or whatever it's called is great for tech healing! She can make the salves and, while she's a little liberal with their use, she usually does a fine job of keeping you alive in situations where aren't just screwed no matter what. And it's def tech alignment that keeps Virgil from healing you. At least he can save it for himself, though!

If you're tech-aligned, healing potions won't work as well as healing salves. The idea is that salves use science whereas potions use magic. So buy salves instead, or take HoobaDan's advice and recruit a tech healer who can make salves for you.

sounds like hes just low on fatigued it happened to me as well just look at his blue bar if so just rest for a hopur or so

He had full blue bar. Too much tech in my blood I guess.

Anyways about that tech healer. Is she just for creating salves or does she get an actual healing skill too? Similar to Virgil's spell except its tech?

The list sirsmithy provided could be considered a bit spoilerish, if you are concerned about spoilers. Anyway, I do not remember if the tech healer actually has healing skill or not, but I can confirm that she can make tech healing items such as salves and antidotes from raw ingredients and can administer them to you in battle.
