I remember that there is a resurrection device in the game, but I can't remember the school and what level of proficiency you need to build it...
Can anybody refresh my mind?
Thanks!

I believe the item you want is the one at the very bottom: "The Revitalizer." You need maximum rank in Therapeutics and also a few ranks in Herbology and Chemistry.

When in doubt just stack a huge number of proficiency books in sorted chests in the Taran warehouse. With these it is possible to make nearly anything with a minimum number of points spent.
Wait... the manuals stack??? O_O
I'm out of the necessary cuss word right now... >_<
Also, the revitalizer is not the resurrection device, that's just a super buff.
The resurrection device is an schematic... which one... I can't remember, it's been a long time.

Well, not in the video game sense. Instead of all the books being side-by-side in the extreme bottom of a chest (game containers tend to be unreasonably large) I prefer to visualize them neatly stacked and organized like my bedroom is. Just a strange bit of Role-Playing carrying over from real life which is somewhat disconcerting.
Come to think of it, the only game that gets *it* right has been STALKER which has a reasonable 50kg weight limit. Historically packs are ~30kg. Of course, were I built like the Governator I might fit a fracking huge boulder in my pack that weighs 5000 stones.

No, I meant that I didn't know that the manuals benefits stacked, as is, two manuals add two times your INT to the level of the discipline...
Crud, that would have been useful to know a few levels ago...

Yep, pretty sure that they stack so long as they're in your inventory. Then the only issue becomes a question of money which really should not be a problem even if you adhere to the "goody two-shoes" school of thought.
And I was wrong with 60kg, that's really unreasonable. Romans used max of 41kg see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_establishment_of_the_Roman_Empire. And I hate wiki grr need scholarly source...time to buy some books.
Crud, found the schematic I'm looking for, the "Reanimator"
I missed the schematic, it's on shales beach on the isle of despair... I didn't find that location! Damm it!!
Can I go back someway? Maybe cheat my way into it again? This really sucks!
(You can't get Zen-Virgil with a technologist without that schematic and the gizmo it makes...)

There probably is a means of editing the save file to re-enable the Isle but would be easier is to find an item editor to change one schematic to the one you are looking for. I don't want to give myself the temptation of cheating so I cannot verify any of the ones in Google will work. If you are leet at hex-editing that might be possible but that looks like a total PITA.

You can buy Restore Life vials from herbalists. If you're a magely sort, resurrect scrolls can be found at the magic shops and possibly general stores.
The Reanimator (once you acquire the schematic) requires Herbology 90 and Electrical 40, made from a Cure All and a Large Capacitor.
SPOILER!
Virgil can be resurrected by any means after his plot death. I think there was even a resurrection scroll in the room you find him in!
Scrolls are out of the question, technologist here...
Also, does the Reanimator schematic appear ONLY on the Isle of Despair? and if so, how can I get there after the main quest over there is over? Cheating is not out of the question, since I don't see any reason why the game prohibits me from going back...
The Restore Life vials are technological (I think), but can be used by anyone. Never had trouble with them.
You can still try to use scrolls. Sometimes it works normally, regardless of whether you're a technologist.
I think you can only find the Reanimator schematic on the Isle of Despair. You don't happen to have a save from shortly before leaving the isle, do you?
For cheats, I'm not sure. There's probably a save game editor or two out there. It's possible to alter existing schematics through text editing in the files, but you'd need to extract them from the big Arcanum archive files. I'm not sure if you need a new game for schematic changes to work.
If you really, really need it, I can go alter a schematic later (don't have time at the moment), and you can just add that to your directory as a mod. You'd need to give me a schematic you'll not use in your current game. Once done, you can always remove the mini mod.
You don't HAVE to have the Reanimator, though. Even for Virgil. The Restore Life vials from herbalists are pretty much identical in all but name.
Ok. That's one less problem...
Still, I'd like to go back to the Island to complete the quest the older prince gives you...
