Hi everyone. I went to Quintarra before I completed the Wheel Clan quest. After completing the wheel clan quest, when I go to me to go to the elf city Raven is no where to be found in the town.

Did I break the quest line by going to Quintarra before I was supposed to? The dwarves told me to go to Stillwater but the elf there will not let me talk to him about Quintarra.

I had thought that the quests were non linear but this is not looking like that is the case.

Any help would be wonderful.

Thank you;
Mae
Did you find Quintarra by knowing where it was from looking up the coordinates/having played the game before?

There are other options for finding Quintarra than Mirth telling you where it is.

But yes, you need the quest update that actually marks Quintarra on your map before Raven will be there.

To clarify this, the way to get Quintarra officially "marked" on your map does indeed have to do with the elf in Stillwater. But it's not as simple as just talking to him.... I don't want to give spoilers, but mess around in Stillwater first to see if you can advance things there. If it still doesn't seem to be working, post back with more details about what you tried in Stillwater.

Yeah, I mean, there are what? Three ways get Quintarra marked? No spoilers though unless OP wants them.

Also, Stillwater is loads of fun, there is lots of stuff to do, so playing around there is definitely worth it anyway.
Thank you.

I had found originally found Quintarra by looking up the coordinates online. I was trying to collect the blessings from the different gods and found out that the boodokan village would not appear till you get the quest from the elf in Quintarra to rescue the hunter.

Since I had not completed the Wheel Clan quest yet Raven did not appear in Quintarra and then when I needed to talk to her she would not appear. The quest line was broken at the point where I needed to get the location of Quintarra from the elf in Stillwater.

I had read some place that Arcanum did not have a linear plot line but that sure proved that wrong.

Thank you again.

I mean, it does mostly have a nonlinear plot. But you really aren't supposed to be able to get around the mountains without going through the Frozen Pass (which you aren't supposed to find until you also get Quintarra marked on your map). There are just things you can do to break the plot so that it shows the linear nature more strongly than normally.

Also, glad to help.

Are you certain that the questline is completely broken? What conversation options do you get when talking to the elf in Stillwater? I wonder if it might still be possible to trigger the event that would normally have put Quintarra on the map, which would then make Raven appear.

If it is truly broken, then I guess you'll have to revert to an old save, or start a new character. Which sucks, but trying different characters is one of the best parts of Arcanum so it's not ALL bad.

I still have hope we might be able to get it working though! More info on exactly what happens in Stillwater would be good. Also, SheBear seems to know more ways of getting Quintarra marked than I do, so maybe one of the alternatives will work?

I just used to play Arcanum A LOT. Like, tons. So, I know a bunch about how the game works (because I've broken stuff a few times too. haha).

You could try doing the quest the correct way. Either talking to Myrth in Stillwater and doing the quest for him or persuading him to tell you the location (might only be able to do this as an elf though with high persuade) or you can kill him, take the necklace and take it to the healer woman in shrouded hills who will reward you with the location of Quintarra.

I don't actually know if that will fix the issue of Raven being there, but it is worth a shot I would say.

Maeyet could also maybe try using a Fate Point to persuade him to tell the location. Save first, then try it and see if it works.

You can use fate points for persuasion checks? I don't remember that, but it could be the case, I never actually used fate points that much.

Um, maybe you can't then... I haven't played a character with high persuasion before, and I thought it was an active skill (i..e you "use" persuasion on someone, like you would use your lockpicking skill on a lock) but now I have checked and see that it is passive. So using a fate point to persuade someone of something may not work. Oh well.
