As the title ask I was wondering how many of you GOGers couldn't wait to get your hands on this game. I know I was saving my allowance for weeks before I had enough to get it in its massive box with an amazing manual. I stil have my Computer gaming magazines with the review inside for Arcanum around here somewhere.
I don't remember exactly how I heard about Arcanum back when I was 11 (when it came out), but I do remember very distinctly getting it for my birthday present that year and wanting it so bad I actually tried to find it hidden by my parents before my birthday-day.

I also remember my parents (well my dad) playing with me/watching me play the game for the first couple of hours to make sure that I was mature enough to actually play it (which they deemed I was at the time).
I first read about it in a letter column of a gaming magazine. Someone sent in a (written) letter bashing Arcanum, and the reviewer responsible for the letter column disagreed emphatically. The highly metaphorical language he used led me to believe orcs machinegunning hobbits is a routine event in the game, and I was somewhat disappointed that it turned out not to be the case.

I was able to get the pirate version of Arcanum to run on my machine, which is why it didn't make the first batch of games I bought on GOG - but it did make the second one.
Bought it on the first day... of its original release :)
I bought it pretty much straight off the printing machine.

Now again to play it on my Mac.

Same here. And loved every day of it!
In my case, I didn't even know this game exist, and found it on GoG. Pretty Weird, because I have always follow Troika Games, but... well, those where another times, when gamers bought magazines about games to get new information, and that with "small" titles (or titles with a small distributor in your country) was deadly.

A real gem, by the way.
Yup, bought Arcanum first day it came out. Same thing with Temple of Elemental Evil. Vampire: Bloodlines I did not get until long after it came out (got that one from the bargain bin). Back in the days when there still were brick and mortar software stores (sigh)..
I still have my boxed copies of Arcanum and ToEE; they are treasured possessions. Got both games off GoG though so they would play nice with my current PC..
