Hi all,
I bought and played Arcanum from here a few years ago, and felt like playing it again the other day. This time however I decided to download the Arcanum Editor from fileplanet and max out my character's base stats to 20 at the start.
The game plays fine, but I've noticed a few characters that seem to have a negative reaction to the high Beauty Stat for their initial reaction. Someone who it says has a reaction modifier of +140 Love when I hover the cursor over them will switch to -60 Hate the instant I talk to them, causing them to attack me.
Most NPCs seem fine, so far only Herkemer Oggdoddler in Black Root, a few gnomes in Tarant, and anyone in Madam Li's have this reaction. Lowering the Beauty Stat still has this happen, but the value doesn't go into the negative as far - it's as if the Reaction Modifier hits a max value and then goes backwards. Loading my original un-modified character from a few years back still has the issue occur.
I've re-downloaded and re-installed the game with no affect.
Has anyone else encountered this issue, and if so know of a fix? Or can anyone suggest some troubleshooting options?
Cheers
