Is there a way to know if Auto level-up has been toggled and if it has been, is there a way to turn it off?

I am playing a pre-selected human male, using the UAP from Drog (along with the high res patch and the updated towns patch). I have leveled up three times, but I have not been given the chance to assign my points. There seems to be some kind of 'script' option under the character screen above the 'tech/magic alignment meter', that can be used for my pre-made character. I did choose the first option, which I thought would allow me to select my own distribution of points, but I just leveled up and I wasn't given a choice in how the points were allotted.

Any ideas about what I am missing? Thanks in advance.

Thank you. I had done that in the past but it didn't seem to solve the problem. Perhaps I hadn't leveled up when I checked. I will try again.
