IndigoAKThis is harder than people realize. By default, Windows 8 does not allow non-Modern UI applications to create live tiles that link directly to an application. Applications that do create tiles most often use a workaround: they register a new protocol in Windows and the installed program is linked to the protocol, similar to how Steam creates desktop shortcuts. While this method technically works, these tiles lose out on pretty much all of the functionality of the Start Screen.
