Visible game shelf in GOG Downloader
I would like to be able to download games directly from the downloader without logging into the website.
I like the current GOG Downloader so I'm worried about seeing to many changes done to it...
However since I have to login to my account to use the Downloader anyway it would be nice if it listed the games on my shelf for easy downloading without using the website to add them to the GOG Downloader.
If this feature is added please retain the method of downloading from the website as well.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think they've stated that they will develope a new client at some point in the future.
Or am I wrong dev/mod/admin?
a) i really like the drm free nature of gog (in contrast to steam) b) i like that the downloader is optional, and it's great c) however it should do the following: - provide a list of installed games (start them on doubleclick, and option to delete) - provide a list of not installed games (install on doubleclick (ask for location, keep installer, create shortcut, and install without any more prompts!)) - option to silently auto-update installed games
This feature would be nice as long as they keep download quene and the available library separate (not like steam where everything is a big list and sorting it is a pain) Also,if it just downloads the games, like it has been already doing and not keep track of games, this would be nice, only that you have the shelf available to start the downloads.
seems pointless, easy enough to just go to the site. And it sounds like a definite step in the wrong direction and the slippery slope into steam clients and such which is half the reason I buy from THIS site in the first place instead of them.
I'm honestly surprised that this hasn't been added yet.
I'd really like to see something like this, I figure GOG is probably trying to avoid making something to control games like Steam does by not removing DRM, but a GOG interface would be awesome. They've already shown they know how to make things look damn good, the site layout is beautiful.
There is no point in downloader without this feature.
I have suggested this as part of an OPTIONAL client that only needs to run when you want to use it.... : www.gog.com/en/wishlist/site/steam_like_client_program_for_gog_drm_free_games_and_bonus_content
and the client would be used to download games only. So no control about what you're playing, only for easier and faster access to downloads.
Of course I meant optional! It would just be faster, to browse your games in gog downloader and download them directly, without a need to visit the website every time.
As much as I hate steam, I wish the GOG client was more like an optional steam. So I would like this idea. I still belive DRM free is the way to go, so I am by no means suggesting that it should be on, in fact, The client should go into some form of sleep mode when the games are playing (if on)
