Okay, fine. I get it. Insomnia's too fast, too silly with its artificial limitations, it makes people stay up, it's too disruptive to follow extensively so some people feel slighted by not getting what they want at the prices presented.
I get that.
But here's the thing. Insomnia provides an environment for high-speed camaraderie. It provides an environment for people to connect over the fun of hyperactive games buying, that rush as you grab what you've been longing for just before the timer runs out, the commiseration of people waiting and screaming for a lull to end (to the point of writing reviews and buying extra copies just to make it go away).
But again, I get it. It's not for everyone. So why not split the difference? Insomnia-type for those who want it, flash sale/bundle whatever for those who don't. Sign up, pick your poison so you can't hit both sides and get an unfair advantage, and cover everyone.
Let's be serious for a second. Aside from the charity aspect that many people don't even register, do people give a crap about Humble for anything but their cheap bundles? Is there any kind of community, any underlying respect or loyalty? NO. It's just another online store for people to pick through like a digital bargain bin.
GOG has an opportunity to do more, be better. Not to mention, this would be a sales format that has never been seen before.
If this sounds good to you, please feel free to vote and let GOG Central know.

The name "Humble" used to be appropriate (name your price, cross-platform, DRM-free) and they've slowly chipped away at all three of those.

Of course, even back in their heydays, the biggest problem for community-building is that they had nothing like the GOG forums to help people build a community identity.

As for the hybrid sale, I'd definitely go for the more laid-back pace. I have enough trouble remaining productive in the face of my A.D.D. even IF I can count on knowing that checking every four hours will ensure I don't miss anything.

Good idea. I prefer Insomnia sales to the snail paced fall sale or other standard sales which are plain boring.
