Stop curating classic games!

Release any classic (pre-2000) game you can get the rights to and easily make compatible. No more "curation", which means great games like Hovertank and Eradicator don't make it here. Release it all, from the crappiest shareware games to the obscure foreign games no one has ever heard of. There are a huge community of gamers who would love a look at early attempts at game development, even if bad by modern standards. Game designers had limited resources back then so the final product was often primitive, but these pioneers still deserve to be remembered. Unlike a physical store, the cost of having a product on GOG "shelves" is minimal.

Continue stringent curation of modern (post-2000) games.

...except that GOG still has to test them to ensure they work, tinker with them if necessary to try to get them to work, then repackage them in their own standalone installers -- all of which can add up to quite a lot of time and effort for their (still-very-small) tech staff. In short, what you're asking wouldn't really be feasible, even if it were a good idea (it's not).

Not to mention, there doesn't seem to be anywhere close to as much curation when it comes to newer titles. This is a site that at least at one time was primarily focused on games from the good old days.

I agree with this. I want to have access to as many old games as possible, regardless of their meta/mobyscores. We can't truly appreciate the history of video games if all we get access to is a few gems. I was really disappointed when I heard GOG had rejected Zone Raiders, which is already for sale, DRM-free and with modern OS support on other sites.

"Release it all, from the crappiest shareware games to the obscure foreign games no one has ever heard of."

That is a TERRIBLE idea, and similar to the mistake Steam has already made (resulting in the steam Curator system because of such mistake...)

If you truly want such games use a search engine, they're out there if you go looking (most are even abandonware now)

Look into MAME/MESS as well
