This will never happen.

But as someone who has purchased an EA game that wouldn't work because of their DRM and when trying to troubleshoot the problem EA basically told me that I am a pirate and should go away, so I am voting for this on principle.

As long as EA doesn't buy GOG, there is still hope for humanity. :D

Could certainly start with buying some of the studios EA has run to the ground and then fired. Would frankly not surprise me a whole bunch if companies like DICE are extremely happy with what they have to do to keep working for EA either. I mean, they probably won't sell the company. But if alternatives really existed, people would gravitate there. It's not like most game-developers stay in the business because they love money..

What are the chances that CD Projekt could buy the biggest company in gaming? Still, we can wish.

This will never happen, then again, if you said Sonic will be on a Nintendo Console 15 years ago, I would laugh. I hope this happens. (but I doubt the likelihood)

This is the end goal people. Buy out all the publishers, stop industry bad practices. A lofty goal, but why not strive for amazing feats!

Ha ha. GOG would never have the cash for something like that.... Besides Ubisoft DRM system is far worse than Electronic Arts/EA Games DRM (here's looking at you - always internet connected. Bah!) - so buy Ubisoft instead! :)

Ubisoft DRM is terrifying, EA is just like steam, actually some origin games don't even require origin to be running so its slightly better than steam.

I'd go for UbiSoft instead. I can live with EA DRM, but Ubi? It's a living nightmare.

Just to be sure: You want them to get EA, to aquire the rights to release all those games DRM free. And afterwards get rid of EA again. Thats an important step, because otherwise GOG will start to suffer from the illness that any company will suffer from if it just gets large enough. EA is not simply bad because its EA.

Stock symbol "EA" trades on Nasdaq, where Electronic Arts has a market cap of $4 billion dollars. That's more than 20x larger than the parent company of GOG. Not going to happen.

I voted this only because it made me laugh. I know very well it's not possible. I mean, I'm sure that even if EA is crushed under their own stupidity (which is more and more likely to happen any moment), I'm sure someone else would get them before. Sadly, EA would rather dissapear than being purchased by a company that cares about customers.
