I think by "public" the author means "shared" -- among friends. If that's the case, it would be a great feature for GOG and help facilitate a real community!

This is the one thing I miss about gog the most. If my friends and I were able to see each other's gamelists, we would be more likely to buy each other gifts (like we already do on steam). Right now I never buy him anything, because I have no way to know if he already owns the game! (Short of asking him, which kills the fun entirely.)

Public profile showing join date and rep and should always be visible. Showing purchased and wishlisted games should be optional and off by default.

I don't like the idea to boast with your games but I'm in for a public profile page where you can provide some more information about you just as it's present on lots of forums.

I voted because I'm interested by the ability to share the wishlist, nothing more. Of course a profile should be optional and highly customizable giving the ability to choose what to share and with whom.

I've always felt that this feature should have been here form the beginning. Now that it isn't, make it an optional feature and maybe make a pop-up question in the next login.

An option to publicly display your profile, which has to be opted INTO instead of OUT OF, would be great. I personally prefer the lack of public profiles, but I see no reason why other people can't have them if they want them. It's one of those features that won't bother you if you don't wanna use it but will make a lot of other people happy.
