GoG sales -- mystery game for mac and linux users.
Just stop gambling. I like good sales for games to come out so I can choose if I like something and then buy it knowing what it is. Imagine I go to the store and they tell me "hey give me $30 and I will give you a random food wow so fun much mystery many suspense WOW" and I give them the money and walk out of the store with a toothbrush, toilet cleaner, frozen gluten free tropical raccoon butts, and 2 bear traps, Trust me I'm going to be disappointed.
This is awful, basically what EA does with loot boxes. EA even got in trouble in a couple countries with people trying to sue them for basically selling gambling to children. THIS IS GAMBLING, not essentially, not Like-gambling, this is ACTUALLY gambling. I don't care what others decide to do but this feature makes me feel sick. That's just my opinion and everyone can have theirs but when I used to be a customer of EA, I used to feel sick when I was taken advantage of and got something from a mystery box that made me unhappy. I would be really sad if gog adopted the practices that make other corporations so evil like EA.
Absolutely. My girlfriend only uses Mac and she really wanted to get a mystery game but didn't because she knew she had such a low chance of even getting a game with a Mac version. I say let us check which OS we use for our mystery games :)
I'll upvote this idea too.
I'd even pay slightly more for the smaller pool if it was necessary.
I was about to suggest this feature. I got a windows-only game on last piñata promotion and I was too afraid to buy again and receive another windows-only game. If I was guaranteed that I was gonna get a Linux game, I'd buy it for sure.
I once took part in such mystery deals, but most of the games I got came with no Linux version. While compatibility with Windows games on Linux is kind of my specialty, not everyone has the "know-how" or the time to learn how to do this. For such people it’s wasted money, because they won’t be able to run the game at all.
That’s why Linux/Mac users tend to skip these sales, and that’s why I skip them myself now. Adding an option to limit the outcome to one (or more) selected OS would simply lead to more sales, that would be a smart move for both GOG *and* the Linux and Mac communities here ;)
