The sadly lost in time company of Commodore Computers had some of the greatest games published for it for its era. Also, it's library was VAST, with an estimated 400K of titles both commercial, and public domain. there are plenty of great functioning emulators out there for these systems, but I would like to keep out of the piracy world, and would enjoy seeing titles from that era show up here.

I can appreciate coffeecup's comment about console games possibly crowding out PC games... I can appreciate it, but I don't agree with it; however, it would be nice to add a "origin" tag, a chronological list of platforms, or something similar so we can see on what platform the game originated.

Having just bought THEC64 last week, I too think having games from other popular home computer platforms would be great on GOG, I want to play some of the Commodore 64 games I had when I originally had a Commodore 64 in the late 90s, yes, 90s, and I have downloaded some of them again, but I don't believe they're ligitimate copies, which is sad, but it's really the only way I can play these games on THEC64. If GOG sold Commodore 64 titles on its site and provided methods of running them on dedicated hardware as well as on a typical PC with an emulator, that would be so awesome. GOG are European and computers like the Atari ST and Commodore Amiga and Commodore 64 sold very well in Europe, of course idologies have changed over there since the 80s and early 90s.

I think GOG should not add games from home computer platforms. This would open a floodgate and next you will have all your Nintendo NES/SNES, Sega, Playstation people here demanding "their" games here, polluting the games catalogue. This would extinguish the PC games here in the long run.

It would be better to have an extra shop (from the same parent company) to offer these.

Oh yes. Boy I'd really love to be able to play those old games without any problems. Would buy a lot of them from GOG. :)

Contacting game developers & publishers of the 1990s is difficult enough, from the 1980s would be most challenging! Probably over half of them don't even exist anymore. However it would be awesome if we could purchase at least a few of them on GOG! Maybe start with Electronic Arts with such classics as:

There are good PC emulators out there, and even good USB joysticks that work well with these games/emulators, such as: www.syzygycompany.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=50

This was the most creative era in gaming, and as a Brit, it's very special to me as it represents a time when we were really soaring in the industry - with the likes of Sensible; Graftgold, etc. - before 3D and consoles largely killed the UK gaming industry :(

Yeah! And a reliable emulator too! And other 8-bit systems would be desirable, too!

Yep, If I could get C64/Amiga games ported to run on my PC without emulator config hassle and finding OS rom images legally (which is a problem when dealing with emulators) I would be buying a bunch of them. Amiga and C64 games for my pc bundles would be awesome!
