At the moment all you can do is delete to content of the post and fill in some random apology or placeholder.Would it not be be good to be able to delete your own forum posts sometimes?

williew705 This should definitely be a thing. I made a typo in the headline of a post I put up but I can't edit the title, only the text in the post itself. I love GOG as a resource for older games, but the community aspect could use some work.

The reason I'm here voting for this is because I just made a forum thread that was meant to be a 'question' thread but I made it a regular discussion thread by mistake. So I had to edit it asking for deletion blah, blah blah. Then had to make a duplicate thread with the same title.
Just have there be a time limit for deleting threads and post so it can't be abused. Say a 5 minute grace period, that should be plenty of time to realize you made a bad post or thread.

Sligdude Deleting your own post is a highly validated option because it allows members to contribute to house cleaning; If a question or topic becomes irrelevant or redundant the topic should be removed at the discretion of the author.
Kevenly I just posted something I quickly somehow found the answer to. Nobody has read or replied to my question and I wish I could just erase it permanently. Too bad there's no option to.

Arkose Some forums only allow you to delete a post if yours is the last one in the topic. I think that's a good compromise; this prevents users breaking the flow of the topic later on while still making it easy to remove an erroneous post if the mistake is noticed right away.
