Bring back the “This is your redeemed gift summary” emails

GOG used to send one an email confirmation for every gift they redeemed. This was an incredibly useful service, as it allowed one to keep track of all the games in their library that were gifted to them, including the gift code that was redeemed. In case of a hiccup in the game library and a game going missing, all it took was that email (the ID in the subject line) to get the issue resolved.

After the partial revamp of the site, GOG stopped sending out these emails, making it from very hard to impossible to keep track of gifted games; only way is to manually keep records of gift codes, dates they were redeemed (because now “purchase” date refers to the date a game was initially purchased from GOG, and not the date it was added to one’s library), and gifter.
This means that resolving an issue of a game gone missing got a lot harder without the above information at hand, and probably also requires the involvement of the gifter.

I think this service is much needed, and should be restored a.s.a.p.

Alternatively they should implement a system along the lines of the wishlist entry List of Gifts received:
www.gog.com/wishlist/site/list_of_gifts_received

Either way, it’s necessary to have a system in place that tracks gifts at the end of the receiver, including gift code, date, and gifter.

This seriously needs more support. Anyone who has received a gift from a friend or won a free game in a forum giveaway / competition basically has no proof of purchase at all.

There should always be a way for people to prove they have the game. It is not like online stores are not prone to screw-ups.
I think GOG should go back to sending us e-mails when we redeem a gift.

No email being sent is like no official receipt. :(
