It's not released yet, sure, but it'll be awesome if gog could get the right to publish it DRM Free in the future.
"Official Wasteland 2 release date... September 19th!" https://twitter.com/BrianFargo/status/501811116226654210
I like the idea of these type of games. Now if GOG could get NeoScavenger. That would be great =D
Looks like the game is finally coming August 2014. http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/05/21/wasteland-2-august-launch/
Why isn´t it already on "in progress" as it really is in progress?
The game's confirmed for a GOG release on the Torment page as well as an update for Wasteland 2 itself http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/wasteland-2/posts (Ctrl + F "GOG" and it should be right there)
The latest update just confirmed that Wasteland 2 will be on GOG. :)
Yes. Im wondering this as well. This isnt in progress unlike Torment and Eternity. What gives?
Oddly enough, Project Eternity and Torment: Tides of Numenera have been marked 'in progress' but this one hasn't, despite the announcement and its being a Torment stablemate.
I backed it on Kickstarter! Would be awesome to redeem my game here!=)
Wasteland 2 confirmed for GOG: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/torment-tides-of-numenera/posts/438068 Near the end of the post: "They’ll also be a place to get Wasteland 2 DRM-free."
Now that their upcoming game Torment is confirmed as coming to GOG (even before it's kickstarter has finished: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/torment-tides-of-numenera/posts/438068 ) seems like a great time to keep talking with inXile and get Wasteland 2 here on GOG as well. It would be a great fit and a top rate addition to the catalog.
I'm already buying a hard copy that comes with a few digital versions as well, but this is definitely something gog should consider, most people already will have other means to get the game but another distribution outlet won't hurt and there are enough people interested in it that in all likelihood it would be a good seller.
I loved the original, played it until my old IBM broke! I am so looking forward to this game coming out that I would easily say this is the most eagerly anticipated game for me ever!!! I will pay extra to be able to download this game DRM free from sites like Steam.
Would love to see both this one and the original show up here. Never played the first one but I like Fallout and would love to play these as well.
Those who backed it (such as yours truly) will get a "DRM-free copy" once it comes out, and that might be the same for those who buy it directly from InXile after release. The original game will also be bundled with it, thanks to EA having a heart for a change.
The first sequel to Wasteland was actually supposed to be Meantime, but was never officially completed. Fountain of Dreams was a great game that used the Wasteland engine. Fallout was the "official" sequel to Wasteland.
Crowdfunded games should be distributed DRM-free.
Please, support a distribution for both backers and new buyers.
@fisk0 Yes, it was called Fountain of Dreams and it was developed by Electronic Arts; it was later disassociated with Wasteland.
@staticblast no, Fallout was a spiritual successor, like Bioshock and Dead Space were to System Shock, and Brian Fargo was involved in it. There was an actual sequel to Wasteland, named Fountain of Dreams, which Brian Fargo had nothing to do with.
It's out October 2013 according to Fargo himself.
@fisk0: Yes. It was called Fallout. :P
Agreed. GOG > Steam.
Great wish, and it fits perfectly in GOG.
Wasn't there actually a sequel (not made by Brian Fargo) to Wasteland? It wasn't named Wasteland 2 though.
I would *love* GOG to represent this game - it's a perfect match between the Wasteland 2 and old school gamer fan bases.
Not this fall but fall 2013.
I believe it will be out this fall. It would be awesome to be able to buy this game through gog!
