Tron 2.0 completed
@ggdograa: Thank you very much for your review.
The Version on Steam don´t work on Win 8.1 or 10. To play the game, you must patch it self. Its no time on gog I must do this. Pleas gog. Give it to us.
+1
Not only is this game criminally underrated, but it's good, and it's old. Why isn't it on GOG yet? I'd buy it right away.
Loved this game when it came out from Monolith (The makers of No One Lives Forever) and was disappointed when no other sequels came out. I thought this was a slightly better sequel than the movie that came out a few years back. I'd love to see this game updated and run in HD!
Paul Saunders of LoadingReadyRun recently covered this game in his "Things on My Stream" livestream (skip ahead to about 19:00; he mostly fiddles with the config up until then):

It made me dig out my original CD copy and try it out again. Then it made me hunt down a version of patch 1.042 that ran under Win7. Then it made me hunt down a copy of the KillerApp mod which enables widescreen resolutions...
And then I played it for a couple of hours. Still pretty good, and lovely to look at.
Really overlooked FPS/PRG hybrid. Its graphics still hold up even to this day. I want to own this DRM-free. Hoping it'll make its way here.
Pretty please, GOG? I'd really love to buy Tron 2.0 from you.
This and TRON: Evolution, please.
Hopefully Disney will eventually allow GOG to sell this one, too. Hell, we got all the old Star Wars games already (before Steam even did) so I don't see what the problem would be with this one.
Loved this one <3 will pay GOG gladly, instead of steam
A fantastic game. Would be great to see it on GOG.
Mac version please :) thank you in advance for letting us play what is supposed to be a really good game.
With Mac version too, please. My shiny discs will no longer install.
Want one without DRM. Didn't need to install DRM the XBox version (also, the XBox is not portable like a laptop... ;) ).
Just saw that this is on Steam as well, but I'm not too sure about "Disney Interactive" releasing it on DRM-Free platforms like GOG.
Maybe we will get lucky and they will do this along with releasing stuff like old LucasArts games....
AAAHHHH!!! Steam no! GOG YES!! ...but I am happy that it's gotten *some* new release...
Steam is blargh. C'mon Gog, add Tron 2.0!
It's on Steam now but not GOG... huh.
Would like to see this one on GOG
i've seen it on Steam but i don't really want to pay for it there.
I would love GoG to include this because some older copies of the game disc include a DRM where you must enter a code to run it on your computer. I have kept a copy of this just to remind myself to never buy games new or used where you must deal with DRM.
A great game, it would be a pleasure to see it here on GOG.
I' d love to play this again. I own the game on 3 CDROM' s styled like ID disks, but the DRM on this one is scary, it tries to latch into my DVD player' s firmware. As already sad by others, this game is licensed by Disney and Disney seems to love DRM... :-(
Just found my original copy...and it's scratched :( Searched for a purchase to find it's only available on ebay and amazon used. Not available for direct download anywhere.
This is a highly recommended game on my part. A very unique FPS with a solid story in the Tron universe, dare I say even better than Legacy's story...yes I dare. Fantastic lighting effects for its time and the music and voice active was top notch.
My only grip is the crappy lightcycle minigames and some levels focus more on platforming instead of action/adventure/exploring but over all a fantastic and fun experience. Must see on GOG.
Loved this game. Would love to see it on gog.
Would be pretty awesome to see on gog!
I have the boxed version and it runs fine on Windows 7. Would be a really fantastic add on to GOG as would the game from Tron Legacy.
Very fun game, but unless Disney comes and the game can be made compatible with modern machines we won't be seeing this, unfortunately.
This game had some of the most unique and creative weapons I've ever seen in a FPS. I have been wanting to play this game again for years. Please please please make this happen GOG!
Check out my video review! www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOMcLlux-oM
This game really is so great that it deserves a special place on GOG. I very much hope you guys can make it happen. I played this quite a lot of times, and it always seemed fresh.
This game! THIS GAME! People have no idea how amazing this game! This is not a hidden gem. This is a whole gem mine. So please, this game would be so awesome on this site...
i'd LOVE to get this game. consider one sold as soon as you put it up.
This game holds up well even today. Better than the much bigger Tron Legacy game. It covered aspects of the universe I wish the Legacy movie did. Bring it back MCP! END OF LINE.
Ooooh. Putting in vote. This got screwed by Disney on so many levels. They put almost NO advertising and about half a budget into it. The writers of the spin-off comic had to *pay the Mouse* for the privilege of getting the rights. (The spin-off comic is a lovely bit of head-trip and deconstruction that reminds me of the last few issues in the Grant Morrison Animal Man and Doom Patrol runs) The game then had the misfortune to come out RIGHT between the release dates of KOTOR and FFX (two of the finest games *ever made*). Top it ALL off with being given a complete and total Orwellian Retcon by Disney the second Legacy got green-lit. The visuals are pure scenery p*rn (closer to first movie in that it wasn't afraid to use color - LOTS of it), and the music is...well, it's closer to Wendy Carlos than Daft Punk, but it was enough for me to go through the trouble if stripping it from the game files to make MP3s. Gameplay-wise, it's a cross of Metroid Prime and Half Life with some innovative inventory management and weaponry styles.
And please make it run on the Mac, again. (There is an official mac version but it does not run in intel macs.)
Would totally rock if you guys made this game available on GOG... rather download this game legit.
This game was one of those gems. It captured the feel of the tron movie and universe. Heh It deserves a spot in this catalog
I managed to grab a copy that came with the Killer App mod, and finished it 10 minutes ago. It's an incredible game and it really holds up well even today. Everything feels right in it, the visuals, the music, the gameplay, with an incredible atmosphere. If you call yourself a serious gamer then there is no reason that you should not pick this up immediately. So please GOG, make it happen! A true underdog classic, and I say this with many gaming years and design developments behind me. Also, the LDSO team deserves great applause for all the upgrades and content they made to the game without official help. We should be grateful for their enthusiasm and work with which they gave this game a treatment that the publisher could only dream of!
Aw yus.
I remember playing this many years ago and having a blast! Would love to see a digital download of it somewhere! Where better than GOG.com?
This is a sneaky-great game. I'm not a big TRON movie fan, but this game is incredibly fun. I remember finding it in a bargain bin (when US stores still sold PC games) after reading some favorable reviews about it, and upon playing it, it was like stumbling upon buried treasure. The game has great style, a fairly interesting story, and superb gameplay. Definitely belongs here among other good old games.
Team member from LDSO here (also known as TronFAQ), who worked on the Killer App and User Error mods. This is in response to CoronaBunny's comment. Believe me, we know the process of installing the mods is far from ideal at the moment. We're working on that. The next version of Killer App will make the installation process as painless as possible, notifying you of other mods/add-ons and offering to install them for you in the right order. There are also also a lot of other improvements and fixes, including the resolution issue you talked about. To be honest, it would be really helpful if folks would send feedback directly to us. We hardly ever hear from anyone. We have to find the feedback ourselves by searching the internet, finding comments here on sites like GOG, in order to know what people think of our projects. Keep an eye on the www.ldso.net/ message forum, tronfaq.blogspot.com/ and both www.moddb.com/mods/killer-app and www.moddb.com/mods/user-error for updates. At the moment, I've had to put the development of the next Killer App on hold because I'm working on a fix for Multiplayer that I want to release ASAP, in light of Gamespy just recently cutting off support for Tron 2.0.
Too bad the new movie and series have rendered this game to the non-canon pile. It was a great follow-up to a great movie and I would love to play it again, but I can't find my install disk!
Modding it is a (expletive), but the result is... awesome. Last time I checked, managing the necessary mods was tricky (I had to make a special link to restore the resolution every time I clicked the wrong in-game option.) Perhaps the mod-community could sort this out for you guys? (As with Jedi Academy, it takes some work for it to come into its own.)
The TRON2.0 Community is alive, but not as large as we like. I'd like to see TRON2.0 on GOG as well since I'd like a central place to download/install the whole game DRM free. (With the last official patch, the DRM was taken out, anyway.) See us at www.tron-sector.com or www.tron-sector.com message boards for player-made TRON2.0 content. I am Meatsack.
Given the resurgence with the new movie, this title seems appropriate
OMG I've just tried it and this game is amazing!
The disk weapon is a blast to use and lends an utterly unique action mechanic to an all ready amazing game. This was, and still is, a great fps and by far the best thing I've ever dug out of the bargain bin of an Office Depot. If this came out on GOG I'd snag it in a hot minute just to have a safer place to keep it. No Nostalgia Necessary!
ALthough I loved the movie, I still felt this was a proper sequel the the first film. yes, please make this available.
