mistermumbles Seeing as GOG is branching out into the newerish game territory, I think it would be great if they tried to open a discussion with Runic Games to maybe bring Torchlight 2 here for a day-one release.

MihaiHornetTo make it clear again, the Torchlight 2 version available to download directly from Runic does not require Steam, it uses online activation only. But, of course, a DRM free version on GOG would be more than welcome. :)
Infin8tyWhy is this not here? They have Torchlight 1, so they have communications and a relationship with Runic, so why no Torchlight 2?
If it has to do with the way the co-op works, I have to say that that is incredibly lame: using DRM/Steamworks as the ONLY method of achieving online play is a cop-out in my opinion (I still have respect for the devs, they have made great games -- Diablo 1&2, FATE, Torchlight); although I really can't think of anything else that could be keeping this off of GOG.

jsjrodmanIt's certainly curious that this isn't on GOG. Does the online server thing not meet GOG's standards? Were there not enough sales on GOG (it came here verrrrrry late in the cycle so that's to be expected).
mothwentbadI think Runic gives 10 activations, and you can contact them if they somehow run out. They say it's only happened a couple dozen times, and they've never turned anyone down.
So yeah, it has DRM, but they are tight-lipped about whether a GOG release is on the way. Steam just finished a big $5 sale (or $15 for four copies), so it seems like now would be a good time for them to sell a more expensive DRM-free version, if they were going to.

mistermumblesStill crossing my fingers for an eventual GOG release. It's been out long enough that a DRM-free version shouldn't be an issue, although I suspect that multiplayer will require some sort of registration.
LaithArkhamKomiyan, GOG has already announced they are not exclusively focusing on old games, and have chosen to branch out into newer-ish + indie territory. (That transition began a while ago.) Old games are still being added to the catalog, but it is no longer correct to say GOG is just "for old games."
KomiyanYou can find this on steam. GOG is for OLD games, why are they adding NEW games? It seriously lags the shit out of the dev process as old games must be ported, new ones simply work by default.
