The Horde
Definitely one of my favorite childhood games, and one of the best on 3DO
Yes !
I was wrong, there is a DOS CD version with video and higher-quality music! Don't know if they're different from the ones on the console.
Yes! Put this on GOG. The CD Rom version, I mean.

boska gra dajcie ją :)
they should release the disc version, as that had better movies.
Made by the same studio behind Star Control 1&2, "The Horde" sadly did not see the same lasting success - which is a shame, since its mix of tactics, economics and arcade is very engaging. The cut-scenes have a strong "Robin Hood: Men in thighs"-vibe to them, and blend in perfectly, elevating the fun to another level. It's games like "The Horde" that helped define what GOG stands for: It has a distinct personality, is easy to learn, challenging, and HIGHLY entertaining. Its diminished popularity is unfortunate, since it surely deserves a second life.
I second that, PC version with video and audio from the console. But if that's too much to ask for, I'd be satisfied with any version.
This game is criminally underrated, original story, original action-strategy mix gameplay, smooth 3D animated models (1994!!!). I'm baffled how it never got a sequel...
Yes, a PC version with the actual videos from the console version would be nice.
The cutscenes were funny. It would be awesome if they could make a remastered version - the original resolution was very pretty bad. But I guess the videos are lost. That's sad.
The Horde from Toys from Bob have nothing to do with Horde: The Northern Wind and Horde: The Citadel from Russian studio 7th BitLabs, those 2 games were loosely based on Slavic Mythology while original The Horde is pure medieval fantasy fun.
There were two parts of the game: "Horde: The Northern Wind" and "Horde 2: The Citadel". It was a really interesting strategy game, had nice 2D graphics and a fairy-tale atmosphere. I think this game deserved to be more well known.
It was a difficult game but a cult classic
When I saw GEX for sale it made me think of this game. Just about anything on the 3Do would sell fairly good.
It's a shame that this game fell into oblivion. In all actuality one of the most original hybrid games from that time. And overall just a great game.
Please bring The Horde to us, GOG! This is one of the games I've been waiting to replay forever!
Very fun and original mix between a managerial game and 3rd person action. Imagine a scaled down Sim City where you have to defend your quaint little medieval village Diablo style at the end of every round. Deceptively simple but gets fairly challenging as the game progresses. Haven't seen anything quite like this since it first came out.
Hope GOG team will find this gem and offer to old school gamers
One of my all time favorites, along with Dungeon Keeper
a good example of how a good game got stuck in a dark corner :(
Cannot believe how few votes this has got. Funny, tactical, challenging, unique - how are there only 28 votes??
Yes, that was a fun game. Quite original with a killer sense of humour ("As a punishment there will be no taxes this year"). Economy+hack&slash?
Would love this on GoG, complete with the cutscenes! Was an awesome game of "Town Defense" with hack and slash!
