I completely agree with you, TheMechanist.
Would be an insta-buy!
I don't mind using Steam most of the time, but if there's a digital DRM free copy available (with extras !) then I'll go for that copy. Also with TES games and their huge modding community I'd rather not have to deal with issues that Steam, and other DRM, brings to modding my games.
Morrowind GOTY is on steam why does it need to be on gog?
It's never going to happen but it would be great.
By the Hist I would love to play Morrowind, I love the Elder Scrolls games but never got to play this one back n the day.
I love this game to death and Beyond, and I would buy it again if it showed up on GOG.com. Also would be sweet if you got ALL of the old Elder Scrolls games up on the site.
i played this game for 5 years and want to start another session. bring it gog!
i thing gog should add redguard, it was the 4th TES game and u cant get it anywhere.
I hope this happens. Bethesda is hard to work with with things like these.
I'd buy it. I only have GOTY for my old X-Box, and that's not going to last forever. Plus think of all the extras GOG would pack it with! But perhaps Bethesda has an exclusive contract with Valve...
Morrowind works on Windows 7 64-bit...
I have the original disk GOTY edition, but I would kill to have it on GOG. I dont want to buy it on steam because then people would think I have only played a few hours on it instead of the hundreds I have over the years.
My GotY also works fine on WIn7, but I'd like to have another language option. Maybe it would be difficult to get several languages for it, as not only text and sound is translated but also region names and thus quest-triggers. As a result a german saveame is not compatible with an english version. But I haven't seen everything in Morrowind in ten years, anyway... so damn much to discover. You may play a new character for 10 minutes and end up in a place you haven't ever seen before.
My version works perfectly fine on Win7 64bit. Expansions too. I won't buy it from gog but I think gog would make some money from doing it though.
I'd buy it, because I couldn't care less about steam.
Kinda useless since steam has this and the original game still works on win7, but if they made it mac compatible then it would be a definite buy.
I luv the Elder Scrolls series iv played them all & the replay value is awesome still not tried the expansions for Morrowind though would really like to :)
p.s. I never was able to get the tribunal expansion working, so would be nice havin finally the game correctly setted up.. oh and as "extras" you could add most nice mods (a good place to stay, metoerite armor pack etc...). So that we can have a full collection of mods that are known working togheter (maybe multiple zipped packages eachone with a different collection).
you shold note that some guys are re-writing the engine of Morrowind, so that you can play even on modern systems by just using .esp and .esm files (that you must legally obtain in some way of course).
love tribunal and Blood moon expansion packs plus the free downloadable extras on http://theelderscrolls.com/

there is over 4000 more votes on this morrowind wish!
Regarding the soundtracks, they talk directly to Jeremy Soule at http://www.directsong.com and get the official version and box art, including the remix of "Nerevar Rising" that was supposed to be in Oblivion.
Yeah! but please multi-language and mac too!
One of the best rpg you can buy period.
i made a typo put "GOG" instead of "steam".
i could not edit it.
gog has my vote on anything over steam. DRM free and whole game packeges are best. love you GOG...
By the way i am also a double dipper (got some games on both steam and GOG). Because some of them were cheap and on deals and some of them (mostly on steam) are too good so i wanted to have them on DRM free, and some times i got them because they were bundled. I want steam to grow and love it... because it listens to us...
In addition, GOG has a tendency to supply more goodies. Soundtracks, art, other extras, that's one of the reasons (one of many) I tend to purchase from GOG as opposed to Steam.
Why not? I prefer GOG to Steam as a digital retailer. Heck, I've double dipped on some games because I found out GOG sold them and plan to double dip in the future (I have Alan Wake on Steam and the semi-sequel/conclusion on GOG, I don't like that sort of discord! :P). GOG's core philosophy of No DRM is admirable and I like to encourage it with my pocketbook when finances allow.
If it was on GOG, there would be no reason to get it from Steam. :p
I would buy it if GOG put it on sale
You can play the Steam version offline. You only need to have Steam installed. No point in having it on GOG as well.
You can already get this on Steam. Explain why I want it on GOG instead.
I've own and have played Elder Scrolls Arena, Daggerfall, Oblivion, and Skyrim. I've never owned Morrowind but I must have it! I have heard it is one of the best ES games from many friends. If it becomes available on gog, I'll purchase it that same day.
It's just one of *Those* games, can't live without em!
Would love to be able to play this without installing Steam.
It's worth mentioning that the steamworks intergration requirement and drm was stripped out of Alan Wake and that is currently available on gog. No reason why it couldn't be done with Skyrim.
If it did get added, they should make sure not to edit the executable, which would make it incompatible with some of the mods and gamefixes that Morrowind has.

@Gaerzi: Skyrim is an offline single-player game. It plays just fine without Steam (plenty of us use the available cracks). In fact, the original release of the game allowed players to bypass Steam (after the initial install) by directly opening the game (much like bypassing SecuROM to play Fallout 3). However, Bethesda patched the game shortly after release to require Steam to be running in order to start. GOG could likely host a version of the game not requiring Steam with little effort if Bethesda agreed.

Also, why are you all dividing the votes for Morrowind? The game already has an entry in the wishlist with over 9000 votes. F***ing stupid... Go vote on the proper listing.
Morrowind is already DRM-free.
Oblivion is DRM-free too, but not its expansion Shivering Isles. There's SecuROM on it. (Though it's a mostly harmless version that is reduced to a disc check and which becomes irrelevant once the game is installed.)
Fallout 3 has a SecuROM disk check too, but only in the launcher. If you start the game directly, or use an alternative launcher, no DRM.
Skyrim is integrated with Steam though, so it'd be harder to get a DRM-free version of it as you'd need to get all the Steam-y bits out of it.
Please GOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Because of licencing I don't see this hittin GoG ant time soon.
And please, make it Mac compatible!
It warms my heart to see Morrowind on the top of the "most voted this week" list. Keep the votes coming, because this game just got to get DRM free!! It's WAY better than Oblivion AND Skyrim!! And GOG, while you are at it, pleasepleaseplease use youre GOG magic on arena, daggerfall, Redguard and Battlespire, so that we can all enjoy these GREAT games in a good and easy way... please?
I wonder why it wasn't on here in the first place!
I really hope to buy this on GOG someday!
xerxes717, both Daggerfall and Arena you can get from official TES site for free because these games are freeware now. So i thnk Morrowind would be better at GOG.com than Steam because GOG version will be DRM-free.
We want it here because GOG is DRM free.
why are people sugesting this isnt it already on steam?
