If there is a game you wish to have on GOG.com and it’s not yet on the wishlist, please add your wish
You can already download this on Blizzard's site. There's no way they would let GOG publish it here while they're still making 100% direct profits from online sales.
please remove this and the other Blizzard games off the request list - Because? People want it here, deal with it.

Even though you can get this from Battle.net, I think it would be a really cool addition to GoG's catalog.
Might be a necro post, but meh.
Please! Release this game on GOG!!
There will probably be some legal issues if GOG.com tries to put this game up, mainly because Blizzard still sells it in stores and online + every expansion or new game they put out a whole bunch of battle chests appear on the shelf.
I have to agree with some of the previous commenters that it's still available on their own store and I highly doubt that Blizzard will agree on negotiations to put it on GoG. Wouldn't be practical and rather senseless.
Seriously do not focus on this game gog, go back to games that aren't available through other means.
Never going to happen. The battle chest of this game is still in print and can be bought for $20 at any major retailer. It's also available on Battle.net" target="_blank">http://Battle.net" target="_blank">Battle.net.
Blizzard is still selling this on battle.net. It works on almost all computers. This doesent really need to be on gog.com.
*facepalm* Blizzard never sold their games with steam or any other digital store because they have their OWN store where they get all the money . Ask for games that are no longer available not ones that are .
Yeah, I agree: it's still widely available, and there are other titles that deserve attention.
Great game? Yes, yes, and hez yes. Worth the cost GOG will have to pay to get it? No. Activision-Blizzard would never let this core title go for a worthwhile price. The battlechest is STILL $20 in stores.
.. why? You can buy Starcraft off battle.net or in any game store with a "Greatest *fill in blank* games" for super cheap, yes the graphics are sort of messed up but there are easy fix'es. Spend your time bringing back other games :)
Why would this need to be on GOG?
Would be cool to have it offered at an affordable price and DRM-free, but then it is still available in stores so it doesn't seem likely. the color fix solution mentioned by @grouperfish works very well; I've been using a similar (but not identical) solution on Vista and 7 for quite a while now. The only downside is that you don't have access to jump out and adjust volume in windows since explorer.exe is closed for the duration of the game.
I wish, but Blizzard would never let this happen. They would have to offer Battle.net accounts too, and you can download from Blizzard site. On a sidenote, if anyone is having troubles with the original in Windows 7, save this is a .bat file in notepad and change the directory to where Battle.net is. It fixes the color issues by closing Battle.net while Starcraft is running.http://pastie.org/3820144
Starcraft uses battle.net for the online play. GOG does not have any such platform, therefore, this is not going to happen.
You can buy it as a downloadable title through blizzard (or if you have a physical copy you can add the game to your account using the serial, thats what i did)
I doubt Blizzard is ok with that as long as they are offering StarCraft as a download via battle.net
Its like the ideal RTS. Among old school titles, Starcraft would definitely be a strong title for GoG to carry.
