any of the xwing games would be an instabuy for me. i think xwing/tiefighter/xwing vs. tie are the only games i want to see here more than system shock 2 (so thanks for ss2! bought it this morning when i first saw it!) BUT YEAH. handel's messiah will surely play in my mind the day i see any of the xwing games here.

This was my most played game on the PC when I was a kid. I spent many many many many hours plugging away at this game. I spent even more hours creating my own levels and missions and sharing them via floppy disk with my friends at school. If GOG brought this one on board I would for sure make a purchase.

OMG...I played this to death. I went to ComiCon some years back and LucasArts was there. I asked them about either rebooting the game or updating it for today's hardware. They agreed that they'd love to see it happen, but alas, there were no plans and no interest at the higher levels at Lucasland to make it happen. :-( PLEASE BRING X-WING vs. TIE FIGHTER BACK TO LIFE!

Plenty of joysticks out there for everyone to buy. The PC was always a simulation system first and a dungeon crawler, shooter, and action gaming system second (and an adventure and text gaming system zeroth), and I would say sales of simulation components are fairly steady -- given how much PC sales have increased, this might seem depressing, but CH, Thrustmaster, Logitech, and now Saitek all still manufacture joysticks. If great titles like these were brought back, maybe those steady sales could increase, too!

Yeah, this one is an absolute necessity for GOG, and it is, without a doubt, one of the all-time best Star Wars games. It's just about all-encompassing, including as it does the best of two previous games. Since this one no longer runs on modern systems, it is a prime candidate for inclusion here.

This game blew my mind as a kid. I have the discs but I haven't had luck getting them to work on newer machines. The only drawback that I can think of is that this game REQUIRES a joystick. And I can't be the only one to have gotten rid of my PC joystick. I doubt the plugs would even be the same anymore.

I wasted sooooooo much of my precious youth playing this game on zone.com. i would love to see not only the game itself on gog.com but maybe some servers somewhere....ahhhhh to be 14 again! hahaha

Right up there with UT2004 and QuakeIII for playing on the old high school library computers off a flash drive back in the day. Would love to get back to it. Especially with LAN support. Man Lucasarts and GOG would really rake it in with this classic.

I remember playing this game religiously for a number of years until I moved to a new town in 2000. When I arrived, I opened my XWvTF case and only saw the install disc, and the play disc has never been found since. I have the case prominently displayed on my computer desk as a reminder to periodically check for a working version of this classic. If GOG gets this working, I quote Peter Griffin when I say "Here is a check. Write down any number you want and I will pay it."
