Star Wars: Dark Forces completed
Mac version is really needed. The graphics were noticeably better, and i miss playing it.
@VariusMayhem Are you sure? Shows up fine for me at
www.gog.com slash game slash star_wars_dark_forces.
I got a lot of Star Wars games here on GOG. Sadly, Dark Forces is missing among these titles and seemingly there is no way to buy this now.
doesn't run on a Mac :-(
Yay! We've got it! Just bought it, but I will have to wait till the weekend to play it again.
Back when the Lucasarts games were announced, the stormtrooper from the cover of the Dark Forces CD case was one of the characters featured on the "and more to come" image next to Indy and Guybrush. Make of that what you will.
I'm almost positive we will get this in the next round of LucasArts releases, and I am looking forward to having it again, even though I have multiple copies already! It's a great old game.
The Mac version of Dark Forces had graphics with much higher resolution than the PC. If GOG would port the Mac version, or just the enhanced graphics to the PC version, that would be amazing.
This game. THIS!
DARK FORCES please!! TAKE MY MONEY.
Now that we have X-Wing, Tie Fighter and other Lucasarts favs. I really am on edge to see if Dark Forces will come down the line.
This was a dream come true for someone like me who was obsessed with both Star Wars and DOOM. The player's character, Kyle Katarn, became part of the Star Wars fiction universe. The sequel, Dark Forces: Jedi Knight was even better and gets most of the glory, but Kyle's saga began here.

I remember playing the demo of this game over and over and over and loving it every minute of it hence the reason why I purchased Dark Forces 2 Jedi Knight
One of the best SW-games ever made!
The best SW game!
This game had a great atmosphere and you get to use blasters on the scum of the universe. The story was also pretty interesting and tied into the movies in cool ways. Should be on GOG for sure.
Dark Forces looks like a great game: it was the first FPS to use objectives, it was a Star Wars game that, like X-Wing before it, was actually good, and I loved its spiritual followups The Jedi Knight Trilogy, so getting to see Katarn's first adventure before Jedi Knight will be interesting. Plus with Lucasarts closed down, it can be easy to put Dark Forces on GOG, and maybe, we will get the XL Engine as a mod spotlight.
I would love love to play this.
Now that Lucasarts has been officially disbanded it would be nice to see some Lucasarts games. Huge fan of point and click i.e day of the tentacle, full throttle, indiana jones, Monkey Island....
my 2nd favourite game of all time its a masterpiece i would pay alot of money for this. gog ALWAYS does a better job with DOS games than steam so i darent buy it on steam but i would 100% buy it on GOG
Seems like a perfect fit for GOG, sitting alongside Duke 3D, Triads, Blood, etc.
Instant buy. I completed it three times and it was awesome every time. pretty please? :D
It's already available on Steam (and even preconfigured correctly). But I would buy it again from GOG since GOG is the perfect home for this title. I must also say that it's really an interesting game. While I assumed that it's pretty much just a simple Doom clone with Star Wars characters and weapons it turns out that it actually feels pretty original and has more sophisticated technology. And the gameplay is pretty solid. But like all games from the Dark Forces / Jedi Knight series this one partially has fucked up level design that will make you desparate. It's very easy to get stuck. Still: very good oldschool shooter.
Instant buy for me as well...
Something tells me it's quite a challenge to get Star Wars games. If it were possible though, I would absolutely buy this. I actually still have the game disc, but it's seriously difficult to get this one to work (perfectly, that is). This game was the first FPS I ever owned. It's objectively better than the earlier FPS games that it drew upon, like Doom, Wolfenstein 3D, etc. but has that old school charm. It has killer gameplay, a good story, fun and diverse levels (including the obligatory pain-in-the-ass sewer level), a very fun arsenal of weapons, and great sound design. I like it better than the sequels.
would love to see this added, I would buy it.
