Hacking will be easy thanks to familiarity with x86 programming (or, even simpler, a hex editor for manipulating ASCII-format characters); unlike the original, Recur of Origin has plenty of Japanese text requiring translation, though D4 Enterprises could aid this process.

13 years after releasing their sleeper hit, Bothtec revitalized Relics, using the same premise to make an involved CRPG further influenced by Diablo and the Infinity Engine games. You now have a number of statistics you can buff, debuff, and permanently increase over the course of the game (snatched body stats are subject to this for as long as you're in control of them). The game combines hack-and-slash mechanics with dungeon exploration, a significantly more well-developed story compared to the original, and new visuals accompanied by a befitting soundtrack. Players can now identify and side with different factions—Marx (humans adrift on the stars), Animals, Aliens, Heaven (residents of the Relics Point), Hell (invaders of the Relics Point), Monsters, and the unknown Horror. By playing with the morality system, you can get just the ending you desired, or perhaps something unexpected.
