Mordor: The Depths of Dejenol
great game, need to come to gog.
Please bring this game to GOG. I really miss this game.
I still think back on this game sometimes and get such a powerful urge to play it again. Really glad to know there's hope we might see it supported again someday.
decklinsdomain.info/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=4558 owns the rights to Mordor and said he's still actively working on re-releasing them. Visit the forum.
I would like to lend my support for resurrecting this game.
Yes PLEASE!!!! I have to run this in PCEM and it's so difficult at times. I love this game as a teen!
Yes, please. While there are a lot of new Dungeon Crawlers, both in the Rogue and Dungeon Master style, Mordor was it's own thing and nothing so far could scratch that itch.
Would really like to be able to get this game back. I've owned it twice and lost it both times, and now I've missed the time when it was safely abandonware.
My brother and I had SO MANY HOURS into this game. I'd really like a chance at it now that I am an adult lol. Gogo GOG signal!
Bring this back. One of my favorite classic CRPGs!
I just ran Windows 3.1 via DOSBox and it runs "natively".
Would love to see this old gem be brought back to life
So I've found out how to run it on Windows 10 64 bit. I'm amazed it works. It has some minor issues but they're cosmetic mainly.
Download the program OTVDM linked below, run otvdm.exe x:\Mordor\Setup.exe (X being the drive of the install files) and run through the setup as normal. Install anywhere. Once installed, run otvdm x:\mordor\mordor.exe > Runs good so far! Runs in its own window, not a VM! You're all very welcome :)

I'm in. Was my go to game when taking small breaks.
Would love to play this game again. I understand it can still be acquired legally, but running through a VM isn't the best experience.
I also wish this was easier to get running on Windows 10. Make it happen, please.
Would love this to be native Win10 compatible.
For those interested in this game, check out the official sequel (and Win10 compatible) "Demise: Rise of the Ku'tan" and the "Demise: Ascension" expansion pack. Development is still continuing with the next expansion "Revenge of the Tavern Keeper" to be out in Beta some time mid this year.
Just remembered this gem! Never found anything remotely similar. It would be great to have it back.
PLEASE! I miss playing this so much!
I would kill to get this brought to gog. I really want to play it again but I'm not dealing with freakin' DOSbox to get it to run.
uggh okay about the previous post: garbage, well it works but is in Spanish, once you change to English though, there are only the once race human, and again switches to Spanish. so sorry guys dosbox and win3.1 (rom) is teh beest way to go
sorry i am, on my other computer and instead of transferring the dosbox and win3.1 (rom) i found a hotfix that should work on any version of windows, its mordor depths of dejenol ressurection and can be downloaded at sourceforge.net/projects/mordorres/
Hi I didnt read much of the comments, so im not sure if this was answered already, but for those of you who loved this game and also the sequal, you can just download dosbox, then download the windows 3 (rom) , (actually i found it by searching for moredor depths of dejenol on windows 10. and in google was first or second optin) and then you have the windows 3.1 available through dosbox which you can use on windows 7,8,10 and install mordor using the rom. once you do it once its simple, then you can get alll the great old games like castle of the winds and demise rise of kutaan
I am fairly new to using GoG properly, I love retro gaming and for me this game is an absolute addiction. Just like previous comments i would happily pay for the full version just so i do not have to create a virtual machine (I am a complete technophobe when it comes to stuff like that).
How can we make this happen or is it just pot luck if GoG actually read these and action accordingly?
Check out this great guide at getting Mordor 1.1 running under Windows 10 using DosBox here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXqtMrU0EHU&t=905s
The description contains all the links you need to get the demo version of the game (up to Dungeon Level 3) up and running right now.
Let's get this game on Windows 10 already!
Commom GOG do it for us.
Please add this game.
A wold love to play this game on windows 10, i wold buy it just to not to have to create a virtual machine to play it.
This was the ultimate in dungeon crawl games!!! Lost about 3 years of my childhood to this beast.
I messaged Decklin about getting his games on GOG, and he said he had been rejected. No further details, however.
I'd love to get this added here just so I can stop rebuying it every time I lose the disk.
I would love so much to see this game on here. Ideally with cloud support so I stop losing my installs all the time.
You can actually still buy boxed copies of it, have mine sitting right next to me (http://www.decklinsdomain.com/Games/GameIndex.htm#Mordor1).
Here's the link to the developers page on Gamersgate. Would still be good to get this on GOG.com, though...

The rights of the game were sold to Decklin of Decklin's Demise. A bunch of fans did try to make a remake Mordor XP (dejenol.com) but they haven't updated in years. Mordor: The Depths of Dejenol was completed, various versions of Mordor II came out with 3-10 test levels (the latest being version 0.992b), it went through a stage of being Infinite Worlds and then finally ended up as an inferior product called Demise: Rise of Ku'Tan where they did away with static images and replaced them with bad 3d graphics.
I'm glad someone remembers this game. It's about time :). I think it would be a great addition, and would love to see it get the respect it so richly deserves.
The license was bought up by another company, who pulled the trials and stopped this from being the Abandonware it had been. Can't remember the company... :(
Ah, I recall having dropped plenty of hours into the trial version of this game, but never quite figured out the development status. Was the developer working on a sequel, expansion, or what? But now that I've just looked at the developer's site, I've only come to a single conclusion; he's got dev/null organizational skills.
