chrishanks Why hasn't this been marked as "Completed"? The Special Edition for sale on GOG includes both the Special Edition, and the original version.

my name is catte @jihanj: Not so. The interactive music is borked in the special edition, even for classic mode. The SE is all well and good if you're after the new art and/or the voice acting, but for a 'classic' mode experience it's inferior to the original version.
jihanj Just curious. Why asking for this when you can just buy the special editions for both MI1 and MI2 and play with the retro mode option on? It would be an identical experience unless what you want is the CGA or EGA version or if you want PC speaker music or something.

superstande I have this on my amiga forever emulator along with the first MI. I always thought amiga versions had the best music, am I wrong? Since the amiga versions are free these days I don't see a point in buying lesser quality...

OzzieMonkey The Monkey Island series is a must for GOG. Ideally, a combo back for the first 2 games including multiple iterations (SE, Floppy Disk, CD DOS) should keep everyone happy. It would also be awesome if they included those fanmade talkie versions of the original games.
Juniper LucasArts must be a really tough company to deal with... Monkey Island is one of the cornerstones of classic adventures games, it needs to make its way to GOG. It would be nice to have the original version of the first two games here. The 16 color (or VGA 256) floppy disk version of SMI and the VGA 256 color for LR. Plus, the original audio that came with them.

Clingit I want it... need to complete my Monkey Island collection... of course it is a good game -- for me to want to have it in the first place!

peg.beard I have fond memories of playing this game when I was younger but haven't been able to find a legitimate digital copy.
madfletch Love this game but it's tough since the special edition contains the original. escape and curse are the two from the series which are harder to find and not officially updated by anyone outside of fan mods and hacks.
