I'd be surprised if EA brings any of its titles from Mass Effect or Dragon Age franchises to GOG. Not that it wouldn't be appreciated, but it's hard to imagine EA supporting DRM free approach.
I just vote for the first installment, the rest has been spoiled by dirty marketing tactics. You can own them all on pc and xbox360 alike, but you are still required now to re purchase the DLC's. Not acceptable!
I already own this, but its got my vote so future generations can download it from here :)
I say the same I would buy MassEffect on GOG because of the DLCs and the good Update-Support in special the good Update-Support its one of the best Games ever so I want it play again and again Yeah I have it already but I would buy it to have it in some Years too "Updates" yeah :D and I speak about all MassEffect games not only number one
A true classic - I STILL haven't gotten around to playing 2 and 3 yet, but I love this series so much. A great game - too bad Mass Effect 3 wasn't on the same level as this game.
There is a DRM-free "Classic"-release of Mass Effect.
Patch 1.02 does not remove DRM at all, it just removed the activation limit by adding the ability to revoke an activation (this is done automatically with deinstallation). If the activation servers are unreachable or EA shuts them down it will get very hard to (re)install ME...
Lol. good luck with this one guys. That's one windmill I won't chase.
I'd love to get this from gog.com, especially with the DLCs included.
Bought this way back when it first came out, but would gladly buy it again on GOG just to be rid of the online activation garbage. Will absolutely NOT be buying any of the new/re-releases that come with Origin, even if it means that I never play another EA game.
Got Mass Effect on Origin. Need to start Origin client in compatibility mode to be able to play it. Bought it through the trilogy wich misses some of the big dlc's in 2 and 3. But 1 got them all(2) included. And they decided to make a 360 port but make it only work for keyboard and mouse. So no couch gaming on the pc :-(
I would like to see it happen too. ME1 is the best of the trilogy. It even looks better than 2, 3 when SSAO and FXAA implemented.
The only possible reason that makes me buy ME 1-3 is, that there are all DLCs included, nu DRM and no registration crap to use the game or the DLCs.
For that I would pay.
The God of games. Oh, yes. Why isn't this on GOG already? :O
Good New Games!
CD Projekt Red has released the Polish version before. I hope they released the full language version on GOG.
This should be on here. It's a modern game, but it's old school at heart.
The support for ME1 by EA is now almost nonexistent and it seems both EA and Bioware would like to pretend ME1 never happened (especially in the plot of ME3) but since it's available on Origin and the 1.02 patch makes the hard copy version DRM free I'm not willing to make this call yet. Simply put, OP, one day (and probably one day very soon) it will be reasonable for ME1 to be on GOG. But it is not this day.
I would happily buy it for the third time.
Let's show that GOG has a market of people willing to pay to get relatively recent games DRM free with all patches and DLC included.
To have Bioware's last good game without SecuROM would be the best.
Stop wasting time please! seriously, you can buy this so easily! Do people not understand the primary purpose of this site?
why would someone want ME1 here ? plz gog.com focus on games that arent that easy to get anymore now ...
EA would never let this happen.
Steam(though it is a form of DRM) has Mass Effect without the DRM(Secu-ROM) that the retail version it originally had. As well as the EA classic has it as well. as well as the patch 1.02 has it DRM free so why is it on the GOG wishlist?
This can already be bought in other stores where it'll work fine. There are a ton of older games that don't work and aren't reliably sold.
I thought this was called Good Old Games for a reason.... this is neither good nor old.
I would so buy this game again if it comes to gog.com.
GOG distributes DRM free games. Mass Effect has a shitton of DRM. Therefore, probably not going to happen.
More likely than 2 or 3 that's for sure, would love this to happen (imagine the goodies). Gets my vote and as gog is getting newer games this is a reasonable request! Garrus is beast.
Not gonna happen.
Maybe in 10 years or so, we can get Mass Effect on Gog ;-)
The PC version of Mass Effect, after applying the latest patch (1.02), is DRM free. They removed all copy protections, I'd say that even the disc check. I didn't buy it until that patch was released.
It'd still be great having the last good BioWare game in here, nonetheless, but I'm not sure I'd buy it again.
lol mass effect? in your dreams
It's possible Mass Effect could appear on here since it's not offered on Origin. True, it's unlikely it'll appear, but out of all three games, the first ME is the most likely to be allowed on here.
A bit early perhaps. I'd love to get the Mass Effect Trilogy DRM-free, with the soundtracks as bonuses on GOG in a decade though.
Heh, even though EA is on GOG, they've started promoting their Origin crap so heavily lately that seeing this show up with any kind of DRM whatsoever... yeah, fat chance.
If it got on GOG, I'd finally play it. No DRM! :D
It's certainly new, but good?
New games, Good games, why not? :P
