Magic: The Gathering
I would definitely get this one! Make it happen!
Kykkoko!!! YOU ARE AMAZING!!! It works!!! I played for hours without any trouble..... well I guess the only real trouble I had was with my wife asking what I was doing... everyone go to his link and download it for free!!! Problem solved. THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

As far as I know there is a working version of Magic Shandalar called "2010 edition" which works fine on Windows 10.
It's a fan implementation that works on 64bit systems. Try it out, it should be completely working, completely legal and completely free (as it's an abandonware).

I wish there was a status update on this. I feel like I check this weekly. Please make this game compatible. Thanks again!
This is the best Magic game. Please, add it, GOG. It will become a best seller as soon as you add it.
I am sorry I forgot to add this. I would pay $50+ for this game. Maybe $100. I cannot stress enough how addicting this game is. It was the best concept for a single player game ever. It could even be made into a multiplier game. The simplicity and replay ability made this something that I still have withdrawals from not playing.
Please remake this. I will give you my most precious possession... the Magic: The Gathering CD. I just hope that you will give it back after so I can frame it and write under it, “The greatest single player game of all time that probably ate 20,000 hours of my life!”
I have the original CD for this. I spent countless hours on this when I was a kid. It doesn’t install correctly on partitioned hard drives and moves at the speed of the computer, which makes it unplayable these days. I was able to get a partial install one time but it crashed when certain things triggered.
Here’s a description: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic:_The_Gathering_video_games
“ Named after the game itself, Magic: The Gathering was published by MicroProse in February 1997. The game takes place in the plane of Shandalar, where the player must travel the land and fight random enemies to gain cards, and defeat five wizards representing the five colors. The player must prevent one color from gaining too much power, and defeat the planeswalker Arzakon, who has a deck of all five colors.“
Just hoping the GOG mods see this. Would love to go back to Shandalar one day.
Please bring this game back with the expansions! It's been 23 years!
please bring this back. it is one the Magic the Gathering computer games ever made.
Please bring this one back!
The best game.
Which one? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic:_The_Gathering#Video_games
How has this not seen a release here yet? Hopefully soon?
More Microprose titles are always a good thing.
This game did everything right. Cards from Richard Garfield's brilliant original set plus a campaign mode that has never been equaled. Did I mention it was made by Master of Magic-era Microprose? PLEASE TAKE MY MONEY, GOG!
I'd much rather play the 1997 Microprose version of Magic the Gathering over those "Duels of the Planeswalkers" games. GoG, just let me know how much money it'll cost to buy the game (even if it's $60, or slightly more to buy the base game + expansion), and the money's yours. Where do I mail the blank check to?
Come on, it's easy money for WotC that doesn't threaten any modern computer MTG game.
Why does this game not have a proper, paid download? This is THE best Magic: The Gathering PC game ever created.
I wish they would follow this adaptation and release a new one just like it every year with the new sets. Telling the stories of each plane, and having you traverse the plane walking around battling like this, getting new spells (cards) until you reach the final expansion. Who agrees?
Dude, I miss card game adaptations that went the extra mile like this one.
I have the original CD here and I wish I could play it again with extensions... I would buy it!
Cash in hand, come get it!! I'm another definite buyer.
I have the original Microprose disks but they won't load & play on Windows 10 (64 bit).
TAKE MY MONEY
never played it, saw a review of it, WANT IT NOW
Man, this would be awesome! I recently found some version of Shandalar online and it had crappy new art for a bunch of the cards. Makes no sense. Also, you had to save every minute because it would not stop crashing. I would love for this to happen!
+1000 to this, the old singleplayer game was the best :)
Still remember all the elves runing when they see my and my 30 lighting deck XD
If I could play Shandalar on my current computer without running a VM for it, I would be so happy.
Please let this be on GoG! I would pay for this game and all it's add on's on day 1 release!
The Shandalar single player was the best thing WOTC ever did. Fans of MTG need this back so badly. I know I'm sure to buy it and who knows if it sells enough maybe Wizards would lean back toward quality and away from the badly made DLC schemes they produce now.
I've still got the disks for this (including expansions). Can't get it to work on my computer though. Would definitely buy this.
Scratch that, turns out the Gold version never got released. But still, the original game with both addons, make it happens.
Try to get the ultra rare Gold Version, it came with both expansions and 140 additional cards and a sideboarding feature.
Absolute best M:tG game made to date. So much better then the 20xx games being produced now, which are all just the same basic play.
I want total deck customization, not just pre-built decks with a few cards to unlock, or the extremely limited number of boosters sealed mode.
I want a quest mode that actually feels like a quest, exploring dungeons to find more and better cards, working to get a great deck to finally go after the big bosses, instead of three little mini fights, and one real match.
Guaranteed buy. Beats the current WOTC games out there by a mile.
Immediate purchase!
Definitely the best M:tG videogame. By far. I'd gladly pay for an updated version! This game absorbed so many hours because it had great replay value. I even remember people who disliked M:tG that loved this game.
one of the best games i've played. leagues ahead of any of the mtg games put out in the last decade. i loved the card finding, deck building, rpg style adventuring. it was all there. mtg:dotp 20xx games simply don't compare.
A brilliant game that can be a right pain to get to work well on modern computers. Please, GOG. This one really belongs here.
I hope they get Shandalar. I would buy it as soon as it came out.
This would be an immediate purchase for me.
Voted
I'd really like to have this one and I will buy immediatly
Loved this game on my old pc. hard to find nowadays and would snap this up in a pico-second!! solo walk around game coupled with a vs computer card game. TOO many hours in that game.
Oh, now I want to play it, I think I have it somewhere in my hdd
One of the best games ever made. People who want to play it over the internet can use manalink and hamaci. You just need to find opponents but I'm sure there are forums for that purpose.
I would love this game with full compatibility on modern machine and all the expansion
I have been needing a good shandalar fix for YEARS!!!!!! I will buy this the moment it's available up on this site!!!!!!!!
Oh man, yes! So many hours...
would def buy this. i've been waiting for the new versions to add the deck builder like this version, but it looks like it's not going to come. also loved the adventure mode. this was a very replayable game.
One of my top 5 all time games and an insta-buy.
Please GOG take my money!
