Japanese scrolling beat 'em up released for the Sharp X68000 and FM Towns PCs in 1994 by Family Soft/Fill-in-Cage. The game combines a traditional arcade game structure (focused on 1cc play), Final Fight-like battling, and movement/attack mechanics inherited from fighting games into one slick package. There's even a versus mode for local play against human players or the CPU, for whenever you're done beating up grunts and would rather go head-to-head with a big, bad mech unit. As far as mech games made for J-PCs go, this game's audiovisuals stack up nicely, with MIDI-compatible FM-synth music from Keishi Yonao (soundtrack available on EGG Music) and detailed pixel-art. Scrolling action fans are bound to love this game; though it was ported to both the PC Engine and PlayStation, players generally prefer the J-PC editions.

Translation's a non-issue due to the bevy of Engrish text available already. Family Soft currently publishes the game on Project EGG, so getting their license to localize + preparing emulator standalones for either the X68k or FM Towns (or both) will be the main technicalities prior to release. As for extras, the soundtrack + anything you can acquire from the original developers would be super neat.
