JauntTrooper - Mission Thunderbolt
This would be awesome.
Used to play the first mission on Mac all the time. Had no Idea there were other missions. I would love to play this again
I love this game. I used to maintain a FAQ back in 1993 when I was at Duke. Played all the way through multiple times for Thunderbolt and Firestorm on my Mac. Still runs under Sheepshaver. Would love to port this to a modern OS!
A Mac version too would be awesome. I played both games - Thunderbolt and Firestorm on my old Mac and would love to revisit the old faves!
Great news! The author is distributing free copies (they run perfectly on XP, but need some tweaking to run on 64-bit systems.) Just email him at megacorp@aol.com. Please encourage him to submit the game to GoG, especially as a freebie!
Here's a gameplay video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=s09El7ARRic
This is a deceptively intricate and involved game. There are many control options, and many ways of approaching problems. Pool of radioactive waste? Get a hazmat suit and wade through it, or get an antigrav belt and fly over it. Or, demolish a few walls to force a path arount it, or use the rubble to fill it in! Afraid of what's waiting at the bottom of a stairway? Chuck a grenade down to clear the way! Only, just hope that you don't accidentally damage or kill something useful! Sometimes the answer isn't to kill everything in sight, either; you never know when a bit of diplomacy or bribery (usually with food!) might turn an obnoxious enemy into an invaluable ally.
This is a very, VERY good game, and one which absolutely deserves the kind of second chance that GoG is all about.
Oh ye gods, PLEASE!!!
This is a little-known, but very fun sci-fi Rogue-like game. It looks simple, but can get incredibly hard. Tons of weapons, items, enemies, and ways to screw up and die horribly! There was at least one other game in the series, and I've heard mention of a third. This was published by Cassidy & Greene; you Mac users'll know what that means!
