HuniePop completed
Yay. WE DID IT!!!!
GoG ROCKS!!!
Thanks everyone who voted for HuniePop :)
"Thanks in large part to community support GOG will be carrying HuniePop; starting a bit later this year." - twitter.com/HuniePotDev/status/636940253610295296
This game is a lot of fun. I wouldn't have looked twice if it wasn't a puzzle game.
I thought GOG had this game by now. I wanted to get it but it's either the Humble thingy or Steam at the moment...
I was looking for this on gog first. Now I have bought it at steam.
Well... this is rather a dating sim combined with a casual game (similar to sega's columns)... but a visual novel? o.O
This is a good game. I rather have it on GOG, but the HB-distributed version works flawlessly on by Linux system. It is a hybrid game between a dating simulator that works by giving answers that fit the ladies' personalities and remembering their earlier answers. The success of the dates are determined by how good you are at one of the most intricate match-3 games I've seen to date. The graphic style is VN-like, but I'd say Long Live the Queen is even more of a VN-type game. The last game has 4/5 stars. There is a good amount of sexual content, but that goes for The Witcher as well., although sexuality is a far more important theme in HuniePop.
I would buy the game again for my GoG account.
This is an awesome game, and definitely not a visual novel. Please accept this game, GOG.
This is an actual game, not just a visual novel. Its a Match 3 game. And its good. Better written than I expected and more fun.
Hey GOG,im a real fan of yours but if you wanna ever become like or better than steam, you ve got to think about your policies...!
HuniePop is a great game! Trust me i own it already... ;-)
So give it a shot,it earns it!!!
The devs themselves reach out to GOG and you turn them down because you have a no VNs policy even though its not? Bad form GOG.
It's ironic that you'd reject Huniepop for being a visual novel and the Visual Novel Database site rejected listing it for not being a visual novel. Probably something about having too much enjoyable gameplay and only a trivial amount of reading and clicking to advance text.
You know, 'no visual novels' is a flimsy excuse. No 'sexually loaded content' is an excuse too, seeing as this is the company that made Witcher. I mean, they even had one of the characters appear in Playboy. So what's the deal? Just put it up and let people decide if they want to buy it.
plz, gog, we WANT it!!!!!!!!
Notice that the "No visual novel" policy only applies if the game is targeted at male audiences, Don't want to make this an MRA issue, but it reminds me of the push SJWs have here.
I own HuniePop DRM Free already, after purchasing from their website.
Big deal, you might say. Then I bought it on Steam as well. It's convenient to own it there too.
I usually swing by GOG to triple-buy games that I like so that if one service or another goes down in the future, there's always a backup.
C'mon guys, I pre-ordered Witcher 3 to throw you some extra cash. Just this once, for me? This game is NOT a visual novel. The puzzles are (increasingly) hard and I always forget which character requires what and to level-up my skills accordingly.
Seriously? While the game has visual novel elements it's mostly a puzzle game along the lines of Bejewled. Someone here didn't do their research.
I'd love to buy it from here. I can't stand the humble setup.
This game is primarily a puzzle game with Visual Novel elements. The no Visual Novel policy shouldn't apply to this. (Also of note is that Hatoful Boyfriend, which even says its a visual novel in its game description and that I happily own, seems to be exempt from this policy)
Please add HuniePop! The Steam version is censored and I refuse to buy a watered down version of a great game. I would love to give GOG and the HuniePop team my money.
This was rejected? wtf???
why is there a policy against vn's anyway?
plz stock!
Please consider HuniePop, GOG! I hope they reconsider their policies on accepted games or make them clearer (I couldn't find any info myself).
I can't believe GOG turned this down... tsssk...
I would like to see this game made available
ewwww... gaijins!
Here's some gameplay: youtu.be/q--sBkJKSfc?t=6m56s
I went to their homepage and clicked on every link, but I still don’t what this game actually is. I played some of the WinterWolves RPGs, and from a visual point of view, HuniePop looks similar, but that is all I could discern so far.
One more reason to avoid it on Steam : it's censored.
They say they don't accept VNs yet they accepted Hatoful Boyfriend, a VN about pigeons targeted at girls, it seems as if it was only aginst VNs targeted at men.
What the hell? I just read that GOG doesn't accept VNs and derivatives. That's pretty dumb, as a new platform that wants to spread an idea of freedom(DRM-Free) you should need all the help and support you can get and not turn games down for the sake of dubious morality standards.
Come on GOG, do we need to show you guys gamplay footage to prove you this game deserves a place on GOG? How comes Gone Home gets released but this is not?
Pity this isn't available on GOG.
Do you guys know where to find the game huniepop
Already own it on steam, would buy it again just to avoid DRM
@GLASSEDSILVER Also Hatoful Boyfriend and Long Live the Queen is both VNs and are both on Gog.
Put this game in.
Bad move GOG on not allowing HuniePop, and visual novels in general. I agree with whats been said I wouldn't really class HuniePop as a VN anyway.
Come on GOG, it is not a Visual Nove, is a puzzle game with VN ekements.
PS: bought it on their website now through the Humble Bundle Widget, but I hate the way Humble's DRM-free games are always handled...
So what I'm saying is: lost sale, sorry guys!
And I'm really willing to stuff your wallet and kill mine in the process. Your Summer Sale left a big hole in my wallet, let me tell you!
I'm devastated there is a no-Visual-Novel policy for the GOG catalogue...
Especially when a game that isn't even a VN gets turned down as the developer claims.
Regardless... Let HP in and drop that policy, why don't VNs deserve GOG DRM-freedom, price fairness and all the other benefits.
And that's before we get to GOG Galaxy and giving Steam a run for their money.
Have you checked their catalogue? They carry a lot of VNs and to think all those beautiful stories and graphics are in the hands of Valve's grip on my system through DRM is a letdown.
Do iiiiiiiiiit
Please GOG make it happen. I beg you.
Make it happen GOG :D
omg please <3
I don't see why not. The game seems solid and looks fun. I wanna play it on GOG please.
It's a great game! I'd love to have a drm free copy! Make it happen peeps
One of the best puzzle games I have played. It's up there with Puzzle Quest, Critter Crunch, and Hexcell
I didn't like this game specifically because it's not a visual novel and there's basically no story or well-developed characters. You should add it.
With GOG even offering movies, even if this /was/ just a visual novel, I think it should make it! But it isn't just a visual novel, that puzzle game will kick your butt! seriously it is addicting!
